Sold our Gen 1 on a Monday in Dec and think the buyer had access by the weekend to the app.
Buyer had setup their app prior to the transaction; sent copy of signed title as soon as we were done with the transaction
MarkNorman: Owe you an apology from another thread... our Gen2 is throttling pretty hard after 85% - reported it to Rivian. I'd mistakenly thought all was normal; after our exchange where I **thought** it was fine, went down to check as we were charging 85 > 100% for our trip home: took 10hr...
While elec are always the obvious comparisons, I think owners/potential buyers of BMW X3, Audi Q5, Merc GLC are all realistic possibilities.
Although we were interested in the elec revolution, we didn't jump until the R1S - never considered another electric. The R1S is/was the closest...
These are interesting points. In the case of my ICE vehicles - even though I can't work on them, there are great local mechanics that specialize in ea type of car. I'll feel better if we see Rivian mechs pop up in the next couple of years.
I, too, drive that pass routinely and often in those conditions (but only with snows!) and love the advice Tahoeblue's dad gave him.
Also installed 275/60R20 Nokian Haka R5 SUV XL mounted to MSW wheels. Wheels, tires & TPMS (mounted & balanced). They were $2900 delivered from TireRack. Have...
This is, unfortunately, the problem. Its always about juries and who might assign or try to assign liability. Just wish it was all a little easier to help people from time to time (former ski patroller here)
Thanks for the update, Svitenko
A bit miserable to happen ever, but especially on a trip. Great to hear, though, that SC is pushing on figuring it out and keeping you in the loop.
Thanks for letting us all know. While they def need to fix their first line cust svc, good lesson for all of us in...
Not sure if you know - Gen2 front doors have manual interior door handles, too, as a safety feature.
Still not sure why go to all the hassle of removing manual door handles... as one autowriter said (previously about exterior handles): "Handles work well. Not sure why they had to change to...
I think this is one of those YMMV situations. I've backed up Nav by running google or apple maps many, many trips on my phone and found it pretty spot on out here up and down the West coast where I happen to drive.
With that said, when we brought our first R1S home, the gps/nav thought we...
This! I often wonder if anyone who designs the UI drives home from Tahoe in the dark, in a storm, passing trucks, cars passing you with family in the car... all while trying to adjust the wipers from "auto" to "On already... I can't see"
All valid points - while we are quite happy owning our Rivian, we've also kept ICE vehicles for now, but we're close to going with 2 Rivians. Here in CA the charging is seemingly a non-issue: I've never noticed lines out here like I've read about back east. 99.9% of our use case is charging at...
Sorry re: mats. I pulled them out when we picked the car up and put the all season mats in: to my memory, the mats I pulled out seemed quite similar to the Gen 1 mats: thought they were the same with a different pattern.
Agree on the ascend interior and do like those mats more - would have...
sorry: Yes, the ascend seem a nicer quality. I meant - Gen2 mats same as Gen1
You may be onto something: Charge to 100% was 50-55 degrees overnight. Charging in Tahoe garage is typically 47-52 degrees (charging to 85%)
You can set in the app for the climate adjustments to pull from wall...
Yup: have had two sources playing at one time before. I think it was bluetooth from my phone + apple music. In my case, didn't have to do a reset, though.
Thanks for the write up. I know many here are fine roadtripping, but snow tires variable weather and climbing passes in winter all present additional challenges. Hearing how others knocked out these trips gives me more confidence.
These trucks with true snow tires are an absolute dream in...
