Not exactly - both RR and Porche had to wait for motors shipped (literally) from Europe. The Merc was probably quicker, but he had to coordinate repairs/pickup from 300mi away.
Don't use it at all - like adaptive cruise, but don't (yet) like the other highway assist parts. Still not clear on the use case for the car to move me a lane?
Visualizations on the screen seem more/more active and probably more accurate - but I've only really noticed sitting in traffic.
We...
I have not seen this issue (of derating so low it won't work) - we threw it on the charger night before our trip, set it for 100% and it charged up overnight to 100%.
On our trip, we've been regularly recharging to 85% w/ 48A home charger (pretty stormy weather - wanted plenty of charge to...
Yeah, kinda how life is now-adays, eh? I'm sure someone will come up with a bad example, but I was thinking more along the lines of when the Coast Guard puts a call out for all boats to help someone in distress
Thanks - thought they moved it.
On the '23 the tech definitely had to tweak something with his laptop.
Sure miss the days when someone would figure out the button/ignition sequence to reset the service lights!
We had a 12v failure (with notice) on the '23 at about the 8000 mi mark. Rivian mobile service had it done pretty quickly for us.
It was a little frustrating seeing the gyrations to get it done: service tech couldn't get a jump to power up the 12v enough to open the frunk: had to start...
Haven't noticed any suspension clicking at all.
I think I remember hearing on the Gen2 launch videos that while similar design, some of the suspension pieces are different and maybe that's part of changes?
It is hard to shake the poor reliability feeling when it is your vehicle, and it is no fun to go through this when it is you... but here are 3 big failures on well established brands pretty close home:
Our Range Rover Sport: big bang while I was driving on highway (in the dark, 5am)... hole...
LL75: completely agree: far quicker to just swap them at home than bringing to a tire store. We drive from non-snow area up to the snow - if going subsequent weekends, will typically leave winter tires on... if a couple of weeks or more between trips I'll actually swap them out again.
Have the...
We owned a Gen1 Quad for a year before moving over to Gen2 Dual Motor Performance Max pack: we wanted that extra range to be able to drive from our home in the Bay Area to Tahoe without stopping if we wanted.
Our first trip in the new car and in moderately cold conditions (30's) we drove 233...
Gen2 Adventure (Dual motor/max pack) - 55xxx vin - cupholders only. Happy charge port still there. After cleaning our kids stuff out of the '23, happily go without closable stash spots :)
We are really happy with our R1S - it drives "smaller" than its size, in our opinion - my wife prefers it versus our Range Rover, despite the Rivian being slightly longer and slightly wider.
We live on a single lane road up a mountain and I will say the Rivian feels much more car-like than...
I've posted in another section of the forum, but in case you didn't see it: I ordered ours with the 22s & all seasons and just installed 20's with Haka R5 SUV (275/60R20's) for Tahoe. Tire size is spot on with the 275/50R22 Pirelli Scorpions and don't require any re-programming.
Years ago I'd...
Bsbhullar - we have driven regularly from Bay Area to Tahoe for more than 20 years. Many, many folks do fine with all seasons, and I'm guessing the newest all season tires may do better than years' past. Many who live full time in Tahoe run all seasons - some do winter tires on one car.
But...
Like the OP, we drive up to Tahoe from the Bay Area. I just took delivery today of Haka R5 275/60R 20 mounted to MSW Type 52 wheels. I went with these based on my past experience with this identical setup for past 4 seasons on our Range Rover.
Years ago I used Blizzaks on an S6 Avant, but...
Like a couple others have already said: tried my 3D mats from gen1 on the gen2 and they work great. Love these mats in rain & snow season.
The bump on the floor is inconsequential - the design keeps the mat far from the pedals
I tried my 3D Kagu All weather mats from my Gen1 and they fit/work great in the Gen2.
I had previously ordered and used these because of how high up behind the pedals they go; the material & shape keep them from any movement.
They don’t have the same potential for catching on the pedals that...
