  1. Need advice for family road trip IL to FL

We were considering St Louis to Destin last summer with my wife and 3 young kids (5 and under) but took my parents minivan instead and glad we did. Nashville specifically had terrible reviews for CCS chargers. Also there are stretches where you’ll be able to drive 80+ mph and that will kill...
  2. 22” Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires resulted in a negligible INCREASE in efficiency (2.07 mi/kwh) compared to OEM Pirellis (2.04 mi/kwh)

Yes, it’s a more comfortable ride than Pirelli 22ā€ stock tires and range seems to be on par with the 20ā€ all terrains. Got 2.0 mi/kwh at 70 mph on a 50 mile trip but at 40 degrees. Here’s a pic with tire shine.
  3. Missouri Sold: SOLD 3 Stock Pirelli 22” Tires 275/50/22 - $100 each - St. Louis MO

$100 each - I have 3 stock 22ā€ tires available with about 6,500 miles on them. 2 have 8/32 of tread left, and 1 has 6.5/32. They are in good shape and evenly worn across the tread. One was damaged beyond repair (sidewall bead is damaged) so I replaced all 4 with Continental Terraincontact A/T.
  4. ‘Moderate’ Ride is the R1S’ Goldilocks

I agree, best update yet! It’s the perfect balance and not at all bouncy or unsettled like soft was before.
  5. 22” Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires resulted in a negligible INCREASE in efficiency (2.07 mi/kwh) compared to OEM Pirellis (2.04 mi/kwh)

I have mine ordered! Should be installed this week. Tirebuyer code honey10 for 10% off. $1,355 all in with tax and install. I had damage on one of the stock tires so went with replacing all!
  6. 289 full range on 22s in all purpose vs 303 online.

On the charge screen you can reset the calculation. It specifically says range based in driving history. Mine shows 292 miles on AP, 321 on conserve. What’s interesting is at 50% it will show 151 miles AP and 165 miles conserve so the math doesn’t work out. Really the only way to know capacity...
  7. Standard and Standard+ battery packs introduced; R1T and R1S base prices dropped (2/8/24)

I’d be surprised if an LFP pack has the ability to put out the power needed for dual performance. It could be NMC with less modules. If the standard+ is LFP that is without a doubt the one to go for. Model Y dual motor is basically $40k after tax credit, so this is way more expensive.
  8. Standard and Standard+ battery packs introduced; R1T and R1S base prices dropped (2/8/24)

Base price is $3k cheaper. The R1S standard was set for $78k, now it’s $75k. Standard plus is a great option now.
  9. Quad Motor on Conservative Drive Setting and Battery Changes

You should be ok with dual motor or quad motor (conserve) large pack on 21ā€ or 22ā€. Max pack is only about 13 kWh more usable capacity so it’s very costly. Your other option is waiting for the Ram REV or Ramcharger.
  10. What’s this meaning in 3rd row

We have a car seat and booster back there and the 3rd row vents turn on every time. It must be some combo of weight and seatbelt. I actually wish they wouldn’t turn on now since it blows cold air. In the summer it’s nice that they turn on.
  11. R2 ICE Equivalent?

Defender 110. Same length as Model Y at 187ā€.
  12. Ordered new 20” wheel with +48mm offset from Tirerack

Looks good! Will a Rivian center cap fit these wheels? Or any solution for a black cap with no logo?
  13. 怐BestEvMod怑Weekend Flash Giveaway Raffle. End on Monday 1/22 20:00 PDT Time

At home after a wash, nothing special.
  14. 22” Bronze powder coating - Anyone done it?

Has anyone powder coated the Rivian 22ā€ wheels to be a bronze color? I’ve seen some aftermarket 20ā€ wheels in bronze and like the look on launch green. I don’t really off-road so I like the 22ā€ style and size better for R1S.
  15. R1S Colors decision...

Limestone looks awesome on cloudy days. I’m not a fan of it on bright blue sky days, it gets a blueish tint for sure. Go see all of the colors. They look different in person. Red would’ve been last on my list but is my second favorite after launch green (which I got thankfully).
  16. Rivian R1T v Cybertruck Charging Curve Comparison

They are the worst charging teslas actually. Which is shocking.
  17. Rivian R1T v Cybertruck Charging Curve Comparison

Thanks for posting! Pretty poor charging curve for the CT. Tesla doesn’t seem to have confidence in the 4680 cells yet since the curve for CT and the 4680 model y are terrible (see Branden flasch testing).
  18. Max Pack vs Large Pack range test (by Out of Spec)

Because they are…this isn’t a new point, it’s been widely discussed here and elsewhere.
  19. Max Pack vs Large Pack range test (by Out of Spec)

I agree multiple tests would be nice but max vs. large is almost entirely a capacity discussion (perhaps max is more efficient in the city with both motors engaged). We know the capacity difference so we know the expected range impact if we know efficiency.
