Meh...it makes something one can already do (if you even have "off-peak rates" available as an option) a little more automated. Doesn't seem overly useful.
Still waiting on a simple PIN to drive, a reasonable valet/guest driver mode, and bug fixes (my HVAC never comes back on where it was left...
I think reading this was with a dose of "wishful thinking". "Hands-free driving assistance" doesn't mean "auto pilot" or "self'driven"....again....more of an issue of managing reasonable expectations
In fact, at that time (first 2 years if Gen 1) Rivian explicitly said they were not pursuing self driving….some people lack reading comprehension and are unable to manage their own expectations
Not "believes".....they would have to prove you were using the unapproved adapter and that was the case of the damage. That said, it's not impossible that it becomes and issue for someone and everyone has their own risk tolerance.
The only real reason is that Rivian specifically states they only endorse/support their specific adapter. That potentially causes you a big issue IF something bad happens at a supercharger when you are using the adapter AND they can prove that it's because you were not using the approved...
So you are mostly upset that you wanted to lease in a way that the lender wouldn't do it (Rivian is not in charge of the lease terms, the lender is), and they wouldn't simply disregard their rule-set to accommodate you?
As for the "missing range", if you did any research at all on EVs generally...
Have you bothered trying a full reset? Your truck is more of a big computer on wheels and software gets bogged down occasionally. Some owners even commit to a reset every (so often) to clear caches etc…
Maybe it’s not the right vehicle for you. You seem stuck on the point and determine to complain about it…so knowing there isn’t a choice for a metal roof or a manufacturer installed shade, …research the various 3rd party options or look for a different vehicle that fits your needs
Climate control from the phone and monthly OTAs are both awesome.
The Gear tunnel and frunk offer great storage.
The flat out acceleration is awesome and often unexpected (by passengers and other nearby vehicles alike).
Be careful how much information you share with the SC. They will tell you that an A2Z adapter with a Tesla home charger is not “authorized” and potentially “violates your warranty”.
If possible, find someone with a non-NACS charger that will let you charge or a public ac (slow charger) to test...
If that’s the issue; it’s a manufacturer issue. There is not likely (not impossible but really unlikely) anything you could have done in your relatively short time of ownership to damage the pack ….
With due respect and empathy, it seems like you caused your own problem by either not familiarizing yourself with Rivian's standing procedures, not asking questions and/or not reading the paperwork. It still sucks, and we can disagree with Rivian's postion....but it's on you for not being...
