I was saying if I were in the market now, I’d pick the slightly better range even if it delayed by a year. The dual/large offers a marginal gain, just have to wait until available. The dual/max would be my ultimate ideal config. The extra HP, while fun, pales in comparison to the times when I’ve...
Have R1S quad/large. I’ve actually been debating selling and ordering dual max whenever they announce availability of that configuration. Reason is that the improved range (albeit small) still fits 90% or more of my typical usage. When it come down to those close situations on a road trip, even...

A little clarification. I do get about 2.11 mi/kWh on ATs. It’s the initial climate control toll that I was illustrating, not the sustained efficiency. My SOC can drop between 5% or more in the blink of an eye with max HVAC. But I am also using the back seat belt buckle to engage...

This idea was mentioned in an old thread about a loose A pillar trim. I decided to give its own thread.
Any adventurous folks look into places to mount an aftermarket grab bar on the A pillar and/or B pillar?
It does just look like the main slider bar that runs along the inner part of all the third party options. Seems like Rivian could totally offer this option. ??‍♂️
Hate to say it, but I would say bail. Or take delivery and sell. Reasons? This would be an extreme use case for *any* EV.
This is only my very non-scientific take, but I think the vampire drain will be significant as the truck parked outside in the elements will try to maintain a minimum...
Have been doing this since I switched to stock ATs for past 1000 miles:
600 mi road trip conserve, standard height, 70 mph cruise
400 mi typical around town short freeway runs all-purpose standard height
overall 2.11 mi/kWh, or 285 “range” on stock ATs, a little better than EPA. Too soon to...
Other owners agree with your suggestions to somehow incorporate some of the Rally mode tuning to everyday use. See older thread below.
I suspect there is something way too aggressive with the Stabilty Control for normal driving modes. I find a good balance is simply using all-purpose, standard...
Perplexing. I heard some had it done by a mobile visit for free, and some paid $50 at their SC. Maybe those were in the early days before everyone started switching. Maybe they’re annoyed I got the 2nd hand and didn’t pay them full sucker-price. Who knows.
I’m definitely gonna ask at drop off...
Definitely would! When I ordered my R1S in 2020, we still had three in tow. By my 2023 delivery, two have flown the coop!
Definitely would love a smaller version with what will undoubtedly be a quantum leap in battery efficiency/range by 2026.
I just hope Rivian doesn’t start monetizing...
Maybe try the light bar and side light covers from Abstract Ocean? The Rivian light bar mask gives a little tilt of the hat to Hummer and Range Rover look. And maybe smoke mask around headlights so they’re not giving you stink eye on the approach? Maybe a quick $50 fix, considering you love...

I’d be curious to know what your SC is charging for the recal. They sent my invoice to approve for service next week and it was $240 for the recal and camera adjust. Thats with the wheels already on! I just told them to remove it from the work order.
