TL;DR
2” spacer should* be just right.
Now the details (sorry, it’s a long one):
I mistakenly ordered a spacer with a “collar” around the bore, which of course does not marry flush with the flared Rivian 20” AT inner bore. So I used the 2” spacer + 1/2” wide bore spacer and got the following...
Currently waiting on same request. Service advisor is supposed to call me tomorrow to check if the OTA wheel configuration changes.
Whether it works or not, at least its an indicator they are working on “touchless” alternatives. Date to dream indeed…
So the two 1/2” spacers weren’t nearly enough. Looks like 2” is minimum with potential contact of the eTrailer vertical bar with the wheel. So really need 2.5” of additional clearance.
I mocked this up using 2” hitch and one of the 1/2” spacers, which gives about 1/2” clearance between the...
@BrentInCO do you think 1/2” to 1” additional would be enough to overcome the depth of offset of the Rivian 20” AT wheels, provided I get some longer bolts as well?
My eTrailer spare mount and Kuat swing arm (got the last used one lol) should arrive in a couple days. I ordered these 1/2”...
Saw that post as well. Power cycling the AC shuts down the weed whacker. I’ve seen my efficiency go from 1.7 to 2.2 as soon as the compressor calms down. Sounds silly, but it works.
If I then switch the AC back on, turn off Auto, and just titrate up the AC the efficiency holds so long as I...
you should see the ride level indicator blinking on the “dash” screen if it is the compressor adjusting the ride height - “operating with spec” lol. if you don’t want to hear, you can turn off “automatic kneeling when parking”
That is how things stand for now. No user accessible settings to change wheel size like Tesla or other makers as yet. I think other users just leave it programmed for their main set, and just accept things will be off when out playing. I am just going to monitor efficiency (between 22” and 20”)...
Hmm. I wonder if Pet mode recruits the rear compressor (overrides seat belt/seat position requirement - seems to make sense for a pet).
I didn’t do any “scientific testing” but my S seemed to cool faster with the 3rd row buckled and fan on 4, with front sync set to LO/recirc (after a brief...
Thanks for the info. Yes looks like I’ll be fine with the ATs and no shielding. I will be coming from the Palmdale side and charging there. I will shoot to be at the trail head from 9-9:30 just to make sure I’m not late. How is the cell reception? I did just get a pair of GMRS radios just in case.
My R1S is holding after coming back from SC from under charged status. I did try the third row buckle today. I then set the 3rd row fan to level 4.
Something was definitely going because my efficiency hovered around 1.7 downhill along a stretch where it normally goes to 4.0. I did also notice...
@Greg Chick Did the dealer say if there was a tread warranty with the new tires? Others have posted that the OEMs don’t offer and tread warranty, but replacement tires definitely should, right?
Having same question.
From the forums it definitely seems like Rmaxx has best price point for combo running board and slider, with decent “back order discount” to entice those who can wait out the production delays (6-8 weeks now?). Current price on backorder is $1500, supposedly shipping in...
Strange how hard is is to find a complete enclosure for a 34” wheel. Not many use cases I guess. Probably just buy two cheap elastic band covers and overlap them front and back. But gonna be hard to contain the rubber scent when the glass top oven reaches 140 in the summer lol
here’s to hoping...
Temporary measure for newbie:
I think I saw a YouTube video from Riviandad or another owner doing this and just wanted to try it myself. This is a 20” AT upright in the empty spare well. It literally fits like a glove and the built in tie downs are perfect for securing. Still decent cargo...
Just curious. Assuming R1T as you are looking at full size spare.
Other users have had success extending the life of the treads by doing 5 wheel/tire rotation. (Search 5 wheel rotation.) You should be able to find a deal on someone selling 22” as spares, especially if you are willing to pick...
not that it’s a great solution, but completely disabling Stability along with Soft gives a more “Lexus-like” ride. Very cushy, particularly over things like speed bumps where the porpoising is really accentuated in other modes.
really feel for ya jcflint. I felt like that before they recharged mine here in Vegas. mine went from 130 to 70 in about 20 preconditioning today.
there has to be something wrong with your compressor or something - or an undiagnosed leak since the recharge attempt? would be interesting if you...
