As mentioned, with R1S you can physically stop the hatch at the desired height, but I think you can even turn off the powered hatch in settings and always open it manually.
If only there was some way to distinguish different versions of the software so people could tell them apart. Possibly some sort of numbering system. Too bad for Rivian no one has invented such a thing.
Some get a spare tire mount that attaches to the hitch like a bike carrier. I set the full-size spare inside the trunk of the R1S, upright in the sub-trunk. I think those are the main options, maybe up top on a roof rack.
None of this explains how Milo Minderbinder is able to DCFC in Sicily for $0.10/kWh and sell electricity in Malta for $0.50/kWh. And everybody has a share.
Hard to compare numbers person to person, but my Hakkas in 275/60R20 are a bit more efficient than my OEM Pirelli ATs in 275/65R20. Not a huge improvement. Maybe 5% more mpk if I had to guess.
Got Llumar Air 80 on all windows and windshield (not roof which is already highly tinted). Blocks UV and cuts a good amount of heat, almost invisible. Many opt for darker tints but nighttime visibility is a priority for me.
You forgot the cost of Re engineering the vehicle to support 400+ pounds and more volume of battery. I wish they’d done it for R2 but I see why they let R1 stay the battery king.
The cover didn't come with it. I don't know if Rivian ever had this setup in mind during design, I first saw it from Rivian Dad on youtube but other people on the forum do this too. The white behind the tire is just the back of the tire cover which I got on Amazon. No foam or support required...
I doubt that the compact would be a good idea off road. Instead of hitch mount (or roof mount I guess), you can also set a fullsize spare upright in the back of the R1S using the sub-trunk. That's what I do for offroading.
