  1. Canadian Price Increased

Looks like prices are going up again in 21 days, up another 25%. Rivian sales will be reduced to near zero at that point.
  2. California Dune Color - real life photos (R1S & R1T)

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I'm not a fan of the color. I much prefer the deeper color of the Quicksand Tacoma. The Rivian is just too pale. I
  3. Quad Gen 2 Range / Release Date

It is crazy, but so is a 707hp TRX, a Trackhawk, Model X Plaid, Demon, Lucid Sapphire, C63 AMG, etc. etc. etc. Does anyone "need" road-going vehicles capable of two second 0-60 times running single digit quarter mile times? Of course not, but they sure are a lot of fun. Performance trucks...
  4. R1S Reservation Holder Before Price Increase (Advice Needed)

I cancelled my order when they jacked prices and said they would not honor it for anyone who had not taken delivery yet. That just left a bad taste in my mouth. They reversed course, and I messaged them to explain I still wanted the vehicle at the original price. They reinstated my preorder...
  5. Canadian Price Increased

PST is tiered, essentially the luxury tax is built-in. 20% when you hit $150k
  6. Canadian Price Increased

Ya, the taxes are brutal once you get to the higher trims. I was going to buy a Tri Max as with the $8600 discount it was in the 15% PST range. With the price hike not only do I have to spend more on the MSRP but I would pay an additional 5% tax on the vehicle. It was already a stretch, but...
  7. Canadian Price Increased

In fairness to Rivian, it's not a full size truck. The bed is no smaller than my old 4-door Tacoma had.
  8. Canadian Price Increased

That is very possible, but at that point the exchange rate won't be the biggest issue it will be the tariff. A Tri currently at $155k before tax will jump to $194k if Canada adds a 25% retaliatory tariff on US imports.
  9. Canadian Price Increased

It's a consideration for sure, but performance is the only real equivalence. The Tri gets the max pack and about 110km of extra range plus all the Gen2 upgrades.
  10. Canadian Price Increased

i am thinking of visiting Palm Springs for spring break in March :)
  11. Canadian Price Increased

It's a hard pill to swallow for sure. Here is $8600 off but we are raising prices by $10,000. Ouch. It's the death knell for me buying an R1T right now, but I can keep driving the F-150 for now and hope prices come down or a nice used quad comes up.
  12. Canadian Price Increased

Rivian isn't unique in the auto industry though.
  13. Canadian Price Increased

Ford pricing doesn't follow this logic. The F-150 is not made in Canada, the XLT and Lariat trims sell for less in Canada than the equivalent truck in the USA accounting for currency.
  14. Canadian Price Increased

Are you sure on that? Can you define "way, way more" in some meaningful way? Regional differences likely cause far more variability than Canada to USA. What are the wage differences in Canada vs USA for similar roles? Adjusted for currency exchange of course.
  15. Canadian Price Increased

Agree with this 100% There was a blue R1T Tri added to the shop, black interior and black wheels. I would have pulled the trigger on that one with the $8600 discount but not at the new price with the additional 5% tax on top. Really can't justify spending that much more for for a pickup 24...
  16. Canadian Price Increased

They did, which is why I was checking often to see if a Tri came up in the shop that I could snag before the price hike.
