If our batteries in our 2024 R1S G1 fail, can this happen in the middle of the drive or once the car is “Awake” this is unlikely? I’m trying to understand, what do the 12V batteries power - just the on board electronics or also any accessories plugged into the USB-C ports? I’m trying to figure...
I enjoyed the video. I have to wonder if Sandy can maintain his objectivity when he reviews Rivian and Tesla now that he gets attention from RJ and Elon. He never has very many negative things to say about either of them. But ask his opinion about VW? Get ready for another one of his rants!
I think it really depends on is the R1 still safe to drive. If “Yes” then drop it at the SC when they have the capacity to start working on it. If no, then please tow my R1 immediately and provide me with a loaner. I’ll be darned if-when Normal tells me they have no loaners yet I see hundreds if...
The steering wheel vibrates if you get too close to one of the lane markers, then the steering autocorrects itself. Are you sure that isn’t what happened? Like the poster above suggests? Otherwise try driving it some more (on low traffic side streets) to see if the issue recurs. What version do...
We drove our S down into coal mining country where I had some work meetings. I know, seems ironic. The pickup truck bros I work with down there were very interested in it and I was surprised how much information the younger guys knew about it, and of course, Cybertruck. I never received a...
I live in Illinois about an hour or so from the Chicago service center, but I prefer to drive 2 hours down to the Normal, IL plant for my service. Not a city person either. The Chicago service center is in the west side of the city surrounded by what I would consider to be some unsafe areas to...
Hi, I am seeing all of the posts about the failure of the 12V batteries; has me a bit concerned. Is there a way I (the owner) can run a diagnostic in service mode on the 12Vs that would provide me an indication I can understand so I would know if I need to request a service ticket?
I looked at the App. I think the only way to save the chats is to create several screen captures of the conversation thread. If you keep the correspondence under the service appointment # you’ll have everything in one place. With my last appointment, I receive messages from both customer support...
I doubt @Rivian is going to reply to you on here. I have found the best way to communicate is through chat messages on the Rivian mobile App Because it’s more efficient. I am not wasting my time with repeated calls and re-explaining things to the various people I speak with. It might be...
What an awful experience the OP had. I can’t imagine if this happened to us on one of our road trips. We travel with A LOT of gear (inside and on the roof) along with our senior dog who needs a lot of support. How are Uber credits any solution in this type of situation?
Anyway, thanks for...
Sorry, I didn’t really answer your question in my previous reply. We transitioned from both driving MINIs for almost 20 years to Model Y last year then R1S earlier this year. We have no regrets about the size of the R1S. I am the primary driver. It did take a while to adjust to the size; the...
Hi, we have an S and it’s just the two of us and our dog. The S definitely looks and feels larger than the T. We drove the T a few times as a service loaner and we could not get over how much smaller it seemed. Like you, our priority is to have functional interior space. We use it for our dog...
Just picked up our R1S from the Chicago service center. I noticed that they didn’t charge or wash the vehicle. Is this typical?
I noticed that Tesla never washed following service either, but at least their owner pickup process was much more convenient (parked at charger, charging, waiting for...
Just returned the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with shiny black pleather interior to enterprise. I needed the extra space to return some large items to UPS. Other than that it was awful to drive. Zero precision on the gas pedal and brakes. and the infotainment was a train wreck.
I don’t know how far you’re traveling tomorrow; if it were me, I would do some testing with DC fast charging and get a feel for what your efficiency is going to be. Because the question is if the problem is just with L2 charging, or you have a more systemic issue with charging in general.
That is not normal. I’ve never noticed any problem L2 charging at 20F temperatures. I suppose it could be your adapter, but I have the Gen 2 Tesla wall charger and the only difference is that the adapter is built into the unit.
