Brand new, under 500 miles. Switched the car to conserve mode and now it wont switch out of it. A message pops up that it needs to be serviced in order to switch to other drive modes. Any ideas? Anyone else experience this?
A hard reset is holding down the far left button in the steering wheel and the hazard lights button for 15 seconds. which model is it? Because conserve functions differently on Gen 1 vs. Gen 2.
When our R1S did that it was because one of the rear drive units failed.
I had this happen, once. A Rivian rep told to do a system reset, which did the trick. As noted above - hold down the far left steering wheel button and the hazard light button until the system shuts down, then it will start the reset.
We tried that and it won’t reset. Walked through it with a service agent and still couldn’t get it to reset. We have an appointment with service dept. in two weeks. Less than ideal.
Update: Brought it to the Rivian service center in Miami. It appears the rear drive unit is failing and a hard reset did not resolve the issue. The service center escalated the issue and should have it resolved soon. Obadiah at the Miami office is great. Really helpful and great customer service. More updates coming…
