Thanks for the fuse idea...I can see the fuse box, but can't reach that fuse. I'll search to figure out how to remove a panel for access without breaking a clip or something.
Thanks, all, for your thoughts.
I went for a drive again and tried hard to re-create the conditions where I experienced the surging. I did get some wheelspin, and the stability control light did come on...but there were no rapid power surges (and no fishtailing, though that's likely a separate...
I submitted a service ticket 3 weeks ago, but (sigh) Rivian hasn't gotten back to me yet other than to ask if it's still happening and verify that I have reset the car.
If I sit in my R1S in the garage and go to the Energy or Camping app and click on the 120V indicator (it says "Outlets off")...
Speeds were probably in the 20-30mph range. As noted earlier, drive modes were All Purpose or Sport (other settings listed above). I was accelerating fairly rapidly, but not full throttle. And YES, the vehicle was lurching like there was something seriously wrong with the car. I am sure glad I...
I switched tires from AT to AS, and I'm more light-footed on the accelerator...and so far, this issue has not happened to me again.
Perhaps I should try pushing it through corners more? I dunno, the day after I switched tires, I accelerated from a stop while turning, and while I didn't get the...
I always ask for a trade-in quote when I buy a new car. But I've never traded one in before, because I can always sell the car for more than the quote. I figure the trade-in quote serves as a pricing floor.
When I picked an R1S out of the shop, I asked for a trade-in quote on my 2022 Tesla Y...
No experience myself, but I recently met an owner from Seattle with 20s that said he went skiing most weekends the last two winters. He was very pleased with how the 20s performed in the snow.
He bought another set of the 20" tires for next season, since his were starting to get low after 24k...
You can also get them at heatshieldstore.com. I've had them for several vehicles. Light, easy to store, easy to install, easy to take down, good fit, well insulated, reasonably priced. Great for camping, or for keeping the car comfortable while you are charging during a summer roadtrip.
Sorry, just short around - town errands and acceleration tests, so no good data.
77 miles since I put them on, 1.5 mi/kwh (lots of time in the car at home, where HVAC seems to lower the average but tires are not involved).
Range estimate on full is estimated at 303 in conserve, 273 in all purpose.
Ride is obviously something that depends on what you're used to. But I notice you have the 20" AT tires. I recently changed out mine for all-seasons (Michelin Defender LTX, same size) and the ride improved. That said, I thought the ride on the ATs was OK (though not great), so maybe that still...
Alexa won't even take my contacts. I go to Settings->Apps->Alexa, and turn on the button for Alexa to take my contacts, and everything looks great...but if I go away and come back, that button is turned off. And Alexa won't call anyone.
I have logged in and out of my Amazon account, and I have...
The Scorpions awaiting their next adventure...which no doubt will be s00n.
EDIT: Perhaps I wasn't clear...they were still for sale. But supposedly they will be picked up on Wednesday at 3pm. I'll mark this post as sold when they are gone. Or clarify this if it doesn't happen...
I got less than 200 miles on the OEM Pirelli Scorpion ATs. :) I took off the Pirellis and sold them, and put on the Defenders after having the R1S for less than a week. And I've only had the Defenders for two days now...so I'm not going to be able to report efficiency differences, I'm afraid...
