  1. Keep R1T After Warranty or buy new one

Just an FYI, rear damper replacement is $4000. I'm on my second failure in 27K miles. Like all dampers, they wear out and need to be replaced so it's just a matter of time for all of us.
  2. Rear dampers leaking again after 10K miles. Inadequate part for this vehicle?

Thanks. It is seepage and never leakage, so your theory on the fluid heating up sounds likely, but that also seems like bad design. I'll get them replaced again and see what happens. I'm really curious how other Gen 1 owners dampers are holding up. At this rate, I'm looking at a replacement...
  3. Rear dampers leaking again after 10K miles. Inadequate part for this vehicle?

Rivian replaced my rear dampers in May of 2024 due to excessive fluid seeping. Mileage was 15, 899. I noticed the issue in November of 2023, but that was the soonest appt. I could get. It's now been 8 months since the replacement and only 9, 981 miles and they are seeping again. For me, it...
  4. Screen mirror your iPhone to Rivian display - via Replica App

It does mirror sound but you have to turn the volume completely down on your phone or you'll hear them both.
  5. Screen mirror your iPhone to Rivian display - via Replica App

Hi Everyone, After installing the new update, I was curious what I could do with my iPhone and Chromecast so I download an app from the store called Replica. It works! I don't have Connect + either. You can see your entire phone screen on the vehicle's screen. I opened up Youtube, played a...
  6. Such a bummer that I can't power my house with this massive battery.

I would happily pay $2000 for the option. It's better than spending 8K+ for a house battery backup.
  7. Such a bummer that I can't power my house with this massive battery.

Big miss indeed. Should have been done in Gen 2. Lightning & Cybertruck can both do it and here I am with my Rivian feeling like an idiot.
  8. Such a bummer that I can't power my house with this massive battery.

Living in the desert in triple digits and the power goes out for a 2nd time. It sure would be nice to be able to utilize the truck to at least power my 220V 30A mini-split system to prevent me from dying.
  9. Forget about Gen 2, let's talk about Gen 3 R1!

I'm too afraid to keep mine past the warranty. I can't image paying to replace failed air suspension or a motor. These things are not cheap to repair.
  10. Forget about Gen 2, let's talk about Gen 3 R1!

I want to see these beasts lose some weight. Probably nothing significant until battery tech changes though.
  11. Forget about Gen 2, let's talk about Gen 3 R1!

For all of us Gen 1 owners salivating over all of the improvements in Gen 2 and are wondering if they will pull the trigger on one, wait for Gen 3. We can do it! I can do it (I think) :CWL:
  12. Drone noise significantly reduced after switching rotation direction - 20" AT

I don't think so because I rotated fronts to back about 200 miles ago and there was no change.
  13. Drone noise significantly reduced after switching rotation direction - 20" AT

With just 16, 500 miles on the tires the drone noise was becoming almost unbearable with the Factory Scorpion AT's. It wasn't like this when the tires were new so I had a thought. "Why not change the rotation?" The tires are not rotation specific, so I swapped the fronts with each other and...
  14. Two rattles driving me insane: one heard behind rear passenger seat + low rattle from rear (R1T)

I just fixed a very nasty rattle from the back seat by removing the gear tunnel pass through accordion door. The teeth from door rattle like crazy inside the channel. I just removed my door for the time being. Rattle gone! Let me know if you need pointers on how to remove it.
  15. I just got an r1s recently but i am very bummed to find out that there is a refresh with lots of improvements coming

I wouldn't be so bummed. I have the Meridian sound system which is better than the current. Not all "improvements" are improvements.
  16. Goodbye for now...

I think it's incorporating elements of the Neue Klasse design language they are moving towards, which I actually like very much.
  17. Wohoo! Only 4% Phantom Drain over 7 days.

I typically get 1% a day but it must have went into some deeper sleep mode after a couple of days. I fully expected 10%. My SOC was at 70%.
  18. Wohoo! Only 4% Phantom Drain over 7 days.

Left the truck outside in Palm Desert, California from December 21 - 28. Turned off proximity & Gear Guard. Not bad at all.
  19. Check your shocks. Mine are leaking after 10k miles / 9 months.

I don't know. man. Kinda looks like a chocolate glaze.
