Yeah I skipped all the RAN’s on my last trip down to Sacramento and Tahoe. With the Tesla membership pricing it was way cheaper to use the non-RAN chargers. I’m hoping they bring their pricing down or give us better pricing as Rivian owners as they open more up to the public.
Same thing happened to me after one month of ownership. The problem was a “soft set connector”. Since they found that issue, hasn’t happened again in 22 months.
My R1T quad is 2 years old with 23,500 miles. I have not received any warnings but I have a 7,500 mile inspection scheduled this week and they added a 12v replacement to my service ticket.
Do you still own a Rivian? If so, why? All you do is complain. If I hated my vehicle that much I would have sold it a long time ago and I sure as hell wouldn’t be hanging out on the forums.
i sometimes have a long delay when unlocking from the widget (iPhone 15) but if I use the control center unlock action or activate climate control it seems to be much more reliable.
What EVSE were you using? Any adapters? My Teslatap mini had issues where it would randomly work and not work. The company thought it was due to moisture inside but it turned out to be a faulty safety mechanism in the unit.
Bottom line is this is a very rare occurrence that happened at an inconvenient time for you. I can’t remember the last time I had to re-authenticate the app in fact I don’t ever remember having to re-authenticate other than when restoring my phone or reinstalling the app.
So I was going to try to do some testing in this myself tonight. I have been noticing a discrepancy between the battery temperature display and what ABRP live data shows. The R1T displays 66F and ABRP shows 71.6F. The ~5 degree difference was somewhat consistent as it charged.
I thought...
Both times it happened to me they got me into the service center immediately because they said I shouldn’t drive it. In the service center for a couple days each time. This was the Portland service center.
Yeah, downloaded it and added it to my Books app on the desktop. That synced to my iphone Books app and it’s searchable from there too. And it’s available offline if I’m out in the woods.
Am I reading correctly that you pulled 30 amps continuously on a 30 amp outlet? Not sure if anyone else mentioned it already but we should only pull 80% of the rated max when we charge, so 24 amps on a 30amp outlet. Just wanted to call that out. Nice write-up!
What software version are you on now? For an entire software update (8-9 months ago) I had no highway assist. Rivian through remote diagnostics thought it was a bad module and they were going to have me take it to the service center. I waited until the next software update and it started...
I wonder if these people are having problems because they’re on their home WiFi and having some double NAT issue? My Rivian hotspot has issues when I’m at home and it connects to my home WiFi but works fine away from home. For those having problems, have you tested it away from home just on...
