Thanks! As I just added to the original post, I suggest spending a little time listening to the new settings with songs you're very familiar with. You should be able to hear things in those songs that were masked before. Tweak to taste!
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, I noticed that 3D Surround Sound really boosts the high end (I'd guess 6 kHz and up) to simulate a spacious sound field, but boosts it way too much, IMO, and doesn't seem to do it as intelligently as Dolby Surround, which uses stereo information to decide what to...
It could be louder. Bluetooth reduces data and therefore resolution by a lot. BT is fine if you can only play your source with BT, but if it’s available though the built-in apps, I’d recommend using them.
I'd be interested in seeing those results as well. I hope the Meridian system doesn't have the same crossover issue the Rivian Elevation system seems to have.
Thanks. Yes, I have the non-Meridian system.
It looks rear-biased but that's where it is when fade/balance is reset to default. I hope the default isn't rear-biased...
New measurements, analysis, and recommendations for OTA 2024.27.01, which dramatically changed the Gen R1S's Elevation sound system.
How to Improve a Gen 1 Rivian R1S’s Elevation Sound System After Update 2024.27.01 With Simple EQ Changes
This is a sister post to How to Improve a Rivian R1T's...
Right, exactly. If the Rivian DAC can't convert a 92 kHz / 24-bit file into a waveform, then those files won't play.
USB audio is useful for reasons other than high-res, though. For example, it's useful to people who want to take their CD collection they ripped to .WAV files with them on the...
In case this hasn't been mentioned, the idea of "high res audio" doesn't apply to amps and speakers. Amps and speakers get analog signals (voltage changes) regardless of the resolution of the source. The DAC (digital to analog converter) determines whether a system is "high res capable." A...
Because I couldn't find them online anywhere, I measured the distances between the cross bar mounting points and am sharing them here. This might help those making roof storage and accessory decisions like I am.
Rear point to center point: 27"
Center point to front point: 36"
Rear point to...
I should have commented that no, I don’t plan to use it again. It’s too dangerous. But if I or anyone else does, I think an indicator like a “Student Driver” sign would help.
Why don’t you make a productive comment instead of expecting people to tolerate your bull while you experiment with being an ass. Maybe you should get a turquoise light on your head to let people know to avoid you when you do. ???
I just posted about this and saw your thread because we're probably using the same tags.
I'm quickly concluding that I don't trust Driver+ enough to use it in any situation. The best use for Driver+ is on long stretches of road—but the problem with that use case is that they are high-speed...
I adore my R1S, but decided to post this in case it helps one person avoid an accident.
While traveling northbound on MoPac in Austin, TX, at approximately 70 mph, I activated Driver+. I was in the left-most non-express lane. The express lane was to my immediate left. As the road curved right...
FWIW: I recently had a Thule XL (not XXL) on my R1S. I mounted it in the front position so I could more easily access the box. It's difficult to get stuff in and out of it when mounted in the back position. You really have to use a step ladder, which I didn't want to carry around.
In the front...
