Yeah I feel like I’m probably not purchasing unless there’s a price cut so didn’t want to lose the deposit. I assume you didn’t proceed with the config then?
Same here didn’t even know I can configure until I saw your reply. Once you configure you cannot get your deposit back right? Does it give you an estimated delivery date once you configure?
So if someone were to order from Rivian directly, it’d be somewhere around 95-96k for an LE equivalent setup plus maybe 1Y wait time, or you can buy slightly used (sub 1000 mile) at under 90k today? What am I missing here
Looking at the R1S price increase again because it’s been a while, $20,000 increase for Quad large and increase in destination plus tax in CA, meanwhile the entire EV market has been decreasing prices significantly whether explicitly like Tesla with the recent MX to 80k or implicitly like legacy...
I’m fairly sure Rivian will lose a lot of potential customers from this. Off-roading honestly is not why a lot of people like myself are looking for. Just need a 7 seat EV and if the R1S can’t come down in price a bit I just don’t see them being viable long term. This would impact the price...
