The Nokian Outpost nAT were at the top of my list until I read this persuasive review by an Amazon buyer who described on-road performance on a quad-motor that sounds worse than what I’m experiencing with the Ridge Grapplers. Worth a quick read.
Review on Amazon: Good tire but not for...
Thanks. I decided to go with the LT because I do some technical off-roading and will benefit from the reinforced sidewalls. My Pirellis started splitting down the side and I never want that to happen to me on the trails if I can help it!
Thanks for the generous donation, friend! I’ll connect with @RivianBowerbird to see if he has time to let me measure his R1T Meridian in the next couple weeks after I get back from camping.
Kanpai!
Got the Toyo Open Country A/T III EV LT on order at Discount Tire. Boy are they pricey in the OEM size. Will report back impressions whenever I get some miles on them.
I’m calling Discount about these today. I got a set of Nitto LT Ridge Grapplers on Saturday and they are loud and drive like I’m on balloons, regardless of PSI.
I have 15k miles on my OEM Scorpion A/T Plus tires. One of them is splitting apart. The cracks and splits don’t seem the result of damage.
Has anyone seen this happen to their Scorpions?
Measurements and recommendations for Gen 1 R1S Meridian 2024.35.00 are up. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/how-to-improve-a-gen-1-rivian-r1s%E2%80%99s-meridian-sound-system-after-update-2024-27-01-35-00-with-simple-eq-changes.33811/
If anyone in Austin is willing to let me measure their Gen 2 Premium, I can do an analysis and provide EQ recommendations.
I recently posted measurements and recommendations for the Gen 1 R1S Meridian...
Yeah, I personally don’t think that’s worth doing. I set mine for stereo and leave it because I rarely listen to Atmos in the car. If you mostly listen to Atmos, I’d leave it set to that. I hope Rivian implements auto-switching EQ in the future.
Based on the Gen 1 R1S Meridian and Gen 1 R1T Meridian measurements I did way back, the two systems seem similar. I’d guess the R1S settings above would translate to the R1T, but I couldn’t give a definitive because the software updates seem to change sound system performance significantly from...
Yup it’s in the title: 2024.35.00.
To me, the volume levels are up compared to pre-2024.27.01, but I didn’t measure 2024.27.01 in Skyler’s vehicle so I don’t know how it changed compared to that. Definitely a moving target.
I concluded something similar after measuring and EQ’ing a Gen 1 R1S Meridian system running 2024.35.00. It doesn’t sound very good. I give my reasons, analysis, and EQ recommendations here...
