  1. Gear guard saves me

Don’t park downhill in the boonies at such big box stores. Just allows the idiots that are too lazy and generally the scum of the earth that can’t put their carts up to allow such carts to get up to 30 mph going downhill right into your vehicle. I always yell at such idiots now when I see...
  2. Rivian needs to allow owners to change their wheel sizes on their UI

I've never really checked it. From what been posted on here, I believe 20 (34) vs 21 (33) is about 2 mph at 80 mph
  3. Rivian needs to allow owners to change their wheel sizes on their UI

I have made it 2 years with changing wheels between all 3 sizes and my R1T hasn't exploded. I just know the 20s will get 10% less efficiency. Agree It will be great once we can do it ourselves.
  4. The efficiency history gauge is propaganda

Just keep in mind most of his tests are done at altitude so his mileage will be about 5 to 10% better than many other areas.
  5. Motortrend reviews new 2025 R1T Quad Max. $111,700 est price -- "So, It’s Fast. But There’s Way More Here."

Unless they really screwed up the Gen2’s. My Gen 1 R1T is loaded all the time and is by far the best truck ride I’ve ever had and my EV hater buddies even agree. Now the R1S can definitely be nitpicked for the ride. Now I see and remember they have summer type rubber on 22’s. Yes the 22’s...
  6. RJ, Rivian Service is Broken

I have 2. 1 service visit in my garage, how cool is that, in 34k and 2 years. So don’t think service needed is infinite.
  7. Hyundai IONIQ 9 - Global Premiere

Good God that’s ugly. I’m usually a fan of HY/Kia vehicles.

  9. Interesting Video on Rivian & VW

I get all my financial advice and wisdom from YouTube and TicTok.
  10. Anyone have any luck finding 3rd party extended warranty?

Many of us that are keeping past warranty went with this. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/what-are-your-thoughts-on-a-10-yr-or-11-yr-100-000-miles-150-000-miles-bumper-to-bumper-extended-warranty-by-fidelity-warranty-services.22473/
  11. Home charging speeds?⚡️⚡️

For 48 amps you should get around 11kw. So in 6 hours, it should be around 70kw. Assuming 2.2 miles to kw, that is about 150 miles. With assumed 300 miles your 47% value appears in line with expectations.
  12. Trump to kill EV tax credit (11/14/24 article) -- [ADMIN WARNING: INFRACTIONS ISSUED FOR VIOLATING NO POLITICS RULE]

My take is there are so many legal tax reductions for the wealthy in place. This was a good way to support those in the middle class, once income limits were included, to get a tax credit that supports a more sustainable future. As they don't have depreciation etc to greatly lower tax burden...
  13. RAN charging station opens in Dallas, TX

Great user name. Fast chargers have not been free for some time. Most RAN seem to be around $.35 kwh so cheap compared to most nowadays.
  14. Many new RAN locations added to the official map!

Unfortunately they don't build a lot of new ones in my neck of the woods, so most are 6 or 8. Hopefully someday.
  15. Amazing Experience - R1T Tri Max

Definitely wasn’t a Ford B&O. Meridian in my R1T is great compared to that or GM Bose.
  16. Many new RAN locations added to the official map!

Any level 3 charger makes a difference. With the amount of deliveries by all mfg’s this is going to be the biggest issue in the next several years. Having 8 stalls (if lucky) every 150 miles in the midwest is not enough with the increased demand.
  17. R3X Sneak Peek

But the other guy liked CT lights and theirs is even worse in snow. I'm looking for some good old Halogens when I head west.
  18. Wassym: Rivian isn't prioritizing autonomous driving (Business Insider article)

I love my leased model 3, really amazing at what it can do. The problem is I don’t live in California or Arizona. The cameras are constantly having issues and disengaging FSD due to rain / snow / morning sun etc. For the couple weeks of the year weather is really nice it does work great.
  19. The Elephant in the Room [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICAL DISCUSSION]

The robots won’t even allow us to drive in 2035, they will force us to be in the battery compartment so no need to bicker about mandates in 2024 :).
