This is what I’m hoping! I love my gen2 dual but the only thing I don’t totally love is the audio. If they fix that, I have no issues at all.
Unfortunately if OP has a different experience than existing owners...I would think OP is on current software....I suspect it will remain....different....due to potential hardware changes. That software alone can't get existing to what OP is experiencing. If OP observations indicate a hardware improvement...at least going forward....in house may be better than it was for a while.

Yeah, would be incredibly disappointing if the early adopters of Gen2 were left with an inferior audio hardware that won’t be addressed.

I agree! Hope that isn't case but the OP appears to be having a completely different experience than other reports so it is definitely unusual.

This is great to hear! I have a gen 1 R1T with meridian and gen 1 R1S with their in house speakers. I love the cars! but my only complaint is the sound system. The Meridian system is a bit better than the in house, but still nothing compared to the B&O that I had in my previous car. I would immediately trade both cars in for another R1t and R1s as soon as they come up with an improved audio version of the car.
Definitely wasn’t a Ford B&O. Meridian in my R1T is great compared to that or GM Bose.

It was an Audi SQ5 with B&O. Sound system was amazing!

I must admit that spending $108K on a truck was nerve-racking. Reading through these forums gives the impression that this vehicle and company are half-baked products at best. I have owned BMWs, Land Rovers, a Martin, Hondas, and Toyotas, and all I can say is that after my delivery yesterday, they are all in the dust compared to my buying experience, driving experience, and the delivery of my R1T Tri.

  • Audio: Holy crap, even without using Lossless, the audio experience was miles ahead of that in my premium BMW M series and Land Rover. As an audiophile who uses reference speakers daily, I can say I'm happy.
  • Build Quality: Amazing.
  • Feel: Hell yeah, it feels like a 100+ truck. My Land Rover NEVER felt like this, even when it wasn't in the shop every three weeks.
  • Ride Quality: The ride quality is SO much better compared to Tesla. Honestly, my Tesla Model 3 feels like a Kia compared to this thing.
  • While Tesla is great with acceleration, it struggled in the snow, even with snow tires, despite fiddling with all the regen settings. I thought I was going to DIE even going uphill. After 8 years of owning an AWD Tesla, no snow mode WTF . The ride was rough and felt plastic all the way around.
I am not sure why there is constant negativity towards this product. I would take the Rivian over a Land Rover or Toyota any day. If BMW made a truck, yeah, I’d buy that. As for service, we will see, but it won't compare to the bills I racked up with a Land Rover, which was constantly plagued with "Yes, that Land Rover is well known for [insert some basic feature constantly breaking] that will be fixed in the next model."

So far, Rivian has exceeded my experience as a buyer and given me confidence as a stock owner. Compared to my early Telsa experience, this is night and day. If you're looking to buy, go for it. I went from WTH, do I need a 100K truck for - to holy crap, this is awesome in one day.
Regarding your question "not sure why there's constant negative feedback" that's a product of the environment where you read those comments such as a forum where folks with a problem come to express their frustrations

I test drove one before ordering and the music wasn’t as good as my Meridian R1T. Then again the Meridian isn’t as good as it was two updates ago now either so ?‍♂
That update you're referring to, yes it made the system louder, but oh man did it rock! Then they neutered it again.

I picked my Tri Max up Wednesday 350 miles so far?‍♂. Traded in my 2022 QM. This one is far superior to my QM, but it should be. I can't believe conserve highway efficiency. I really could go 400 miles; even in the 40 degree weather yesterday. I know it will get colder, but my QM efficiency falls off a cliff at 50 degrees. Lady at the closing said the heat pump DOES help at cool temps, but she wasn't so sure at "cold" temps. Sound system is at least as good as the Meridian. Only downside is the gen 2 can't precondition the cabin yet. Supposedly going to push an update in 2 weeks. Also, I'm not a big fan of the door handle/open change. Seems I have to pull twice to open the door. Love the slate/walnut interior. Seats may be the same, but feel better than my old ones. I had a myriad of software issues on my QM too. Don't miss those.

Long term don't know if it will be worth the $$$, but it is an excellent ride. Feel like we can travel in it if we want. Didn't feel that way in the QM.

Honestly, you just read about the folks with issues here the majority of the time. I’ve owned my R1T G1 quad since December ’22 and had it in the shop one time for a 12v battery issue, they got it in within 3 days. Best new car experience I’ve ever had, and my previous three vehicles were Toyota LCs.
