As long as you have a credit card linked to your Rivian account it is just plug and charge at any compatible Tesla supercharger. Basically the same experience you have with RAN assuming you have stopped at one of them before.
This happens once in a while on my 2y/o Gen1 R1S but only when the truck of note is actually encroaching on the lane markers. I find that many truck drivers have difficulty keeping it straight and centered and that is what I notice triggers the braking in my R1. FWIW I have recently done long...
Just had my 2y/o R1S in due to the rain sensor not working. Came in around 10am and they fixed the sensor and replaced the 12V battery due to “diagnostics” that were reviewed before my appointment and was ready to go by 11-ish so just about an hour total. It felt to me like they are figuring...
yes but I think what isn’t known is how the Toyo’s sound after 15k and we maybe won’t know for a while. The Pirellis were fairly quiet for the first 15k at least in my opinion and then they became brutal as you eloquently put it.
Great to hear of the positive experiences with the Toyos. Had them on my GX before and great to see an “EV” version for us. Thanks superfluid for the intel.
About a week ago I pulled into the Panoche Road RAN and going by the Tesla lot and seeing a few Rivians there (in addition to a few Teslas and many open plugs) I figured the RAN must be full and was surprised to see it empty - so it is clear many are using Tesla plugs due to the rates. I...
I drive in all kinds of snow in the Sierras and I have never felt the need for dedicated snow tires. I find ATs with the 3-peak certification to be all I need. I keep them on year around and also use in desert and on trails in the warmer seasons. YMMV.
I haven’t tried the Tesla or EA sites in Cedar City but I have charged successfully at the Mesquite Tesla site as well as the Walmart EA site just north of St George while out in that area. Hope your trip wasn’t completely ruined and you can get back out there while the weather is still good.
I did hamdan’s process on my R1S using the L-shaped strip only (did not use the trim lock cord). I did all four doors and it made a big difference. Massive thanks to Dan for the original post and how-to here.
Hopefully in addition to posting here you left the feedback on PlugShare. Lots of folks will scope out their charging stops on there before a road trip in unfamiliar environs.
I had the squeaky wheel usually in the mornings when first driving after my R1S sat outside all night. I took it in for a few fit and finish issues sometime fall of 2023 including the squeak and they said they fixed it. I did not have the squeak for a while but eventually it returned. For...
Most people understand it’s bad form to leave a car parked in front of a gas pump while they go inside to eat lunch or whatever. Hopefully it’s a matter of time before charging stalls are viewed the same. Unfortunately the lack of courtesy extends even to some EV owners currently and people...
I have this experience with the FM radio. I listen to it often and when I get back into the car I have to sometimes “jog” it into action by touching the audio menu and then the FM radio icon at which point it wakes back up. For me this is fine since the radio works and it just behaves like it...
I filed with NHTSA just today. This has been an ongoing issue with our R1S, and my wife is starting to have doubts about sitting in the front seat on road trips. Rivian’s response is what I would expect from a manufacturer and the only way they will act on this one is if they are forced by a...
I think it’s natural to second guess ourselves when these things happen but it sounds like the situation may have been more than even a 4x4 with snow/AT tires could overcome.
I think Rivian will get better at the fit and finish stuff over time. My main concern is that the constant changes in configuration and hardware inside these things will lead to unreliable software and just overall more bugs and longer fix times. Between all the hardware/firmware changes both...
Just started having this issue. When I select any of the auto settings for the wipers the icon turns green and the wipers go one time and then the icon grays out and the auto mode seems to auto-disengage. The fixed modes (sprinkle et al) work. I put in a ticket. My hunch is the sensor went...
1) if you have a cc on file with Rivian then yes, RAN will be plug and charge
2) not sure but plug and charge works at Tesla at the spot rate. Not sure how to get the member rate….pretty sure it’s been covered in multiple threads here though.
3) no Chargepoint is not plug and charge as far...
