I was waiting for the R1S version that was supposed to be out in December and then it was delayed and delayed. I went with Prinsu and received it in 3 weeks from order date and have been very happy with it.
The heating cycle is too long. Mine will warm up nicely then cool off then heat up. If they cut the cooling cycle by half it would be perfect I think. There are other threads on this it is a known issue I’m hoping is adjusted with a OTA update. Seems like a pretty simple change but I’m no...
The rubber washers and glue I don’t believe are needed for Rivian’s. My guess is they have all install kits premade and ship the same kits. When I look at installs for 4Runners the sealant is used to fill up the large washers on the factory rack mounts to waterproof them. Rivian’s obviously...
Here are pics of every screen from the rear and where you lock the screen on the front main screen.
The screen that simply shows the time is what it looks like when the rear screen is locked.
Each display reading on the rear Home Screen can be touched to bring up that section like Spotify...
Took it on the highway and there is definitely more wind noise but it is subtle and minor. I can hear it kick in around 40mph+ but it is not bad at all to my ear. I hear more of the OEM 20 AT tire drone than the wind noise.
Tip for installing the wind fairing. Put the bolts on the T nuts real loose first and then it will slide on the support rack. Much easier than trying to line them up in the rack.
The mounting feet are numbered 1-3. 1 goes in the front of the car and 3 in the rear. The rest is pretty self...
Yes it comes with more loctite than you need. I’m glad I have a power ratchet that makes it much faster than hand turning.
The key to installing this is keep all bolts finger tight until everything is installed on the car. Then tighten up once everything you want installed is on. I also have 4...
Taking on and off would be a royal pain! It is now a permanent part of the Rivian. I can’t imagine it would affect range that much and I use my roof rack pretty often hauling all kinds of things.
All done! Took 2.5hrs to assemble and I kept a blanket on the roof. The grab handles are Agency 6. The mounting brackets are simple but ingenious. Was pretty self explanatory and I love a vendor that always gives extra bolts washers and nuts for the one that gets lost.
I had the original Prinsu rack on my 4Runner that the Rivian replaced and loved it! It was a great addition for the 6 years I had the truck and I used it often!
Up until now the only roof rack option I found was the Ruff Rack which is exorbitantly priced and I feel sits too tall when I saw it...
My 2023 R1S started being flaky again right after the last update. Same with the steering wheel auto adjustment for the driver. Both of which were flaky when we got it in Sept but were fixed in the December update and worked pretty flawlessly but have since reverted since this last software...
I put the plugs on the underside of the car not the sliders there are a a few 1/2 in holes in the underbody that were exposed when I removed the plastic underbody panels that I plugged since I already had the plugs on hand. I figured they are not drain holes since they were covered by the...
Just installed mine. Took maybe an hour total and I had my wife help lift them to slide on.
One tip is there is a bolt underneath that can get in the way so you have to lift up the outer edge of slider to clear the bolt to have it slide in all the way. One side was fine and the other side the...
Just FYI the OEM Pirelli AT is a SL rated tire. Rivian thinks a SL rated tire is fine from the factory and they don't mention any restriction to hauling or towing with them. Not to dispute the LT tire's more rugged build but my guess is Rivian was trying to max the efficiency with the OEM tire...
I have the 2024.7.2 and the PAAK seems like it isn’t working as well as before. I had to physically unlock my R1S twice with my phone where in the past update it worked pretty much flawlessly. Maybe they fixed it?
