I can happily say they have held up very well. I had one stud that wasn't quite tight after a few months so I had to replace it but so far so good and I am very happy with the result.
The only thing I have noticed is the clearance is VERY small at the bottom of the 2nd row seats when the 2nd...
My guess about the hint for Gary and gear guard is it would turn on and off automatically when it is locked and unlocked? I only use gear guard when I’m parked outside for extended periods of time like airport parking so maybe this is how it works already but could be a nice feature enhancement...
One thing I’ve noticed is faster home charging since the update. I have a Tesla Universal Home charger on a 60amp breaker. Works great!
Before this last update the max I saw was 10.6 KW which was approx 21 miles of range an hour. Now it ramps up to 11 KW and 22 miles of range an hour much...
I took delivery of my R1S in late September and have 5K+ miles on it. When we took delivery the steering wheel made a clicking grinding noise when it would turn.
Scheduled or service Nov. 5th to fix that and a few other things like misaligned A pillar trim, rear passenger exterior window trim...
I would buy a Tesla Level 2 adapter to keep in the car. It will come in handy especially in remote places where there are some Tesla chargers. I bought the one from Teslatap. It is more expensive than others but no one reports any problems with them and I wanted to make sure it works especially...
I have noticed another improvement they need to make and this is an easy one.
Allow the heated seats to be turned on when the car is in reverse. When we are slowly backing out of the garage my wife cannot turn on her seat nor can the driver. If I’m backing up out of a parking spot and have to...
I just completed my first 1200 mile road trip from Vancouver,WA to Montana. The R1S is a great road tripping car itself although the finding reliable EA charging along the way was not as great. Also the Rivian mileage prediction was very conservative and we consistently ended with more mileage...
This is a great analysis! I wonder if the model Y steering wheel heat cycles as well like the Rivian but interesting to see and 30 degrees is quite a large difference . I would think an update to the heat cycle timing would resolve this issue.
The more I use the heated seats the more they are...
Here is a great video that shows the affect of temperature on EV range done by Consumer Reports. Best range was 85degree day even with AC and even the 65 degree day was worse and the 17 degree day obviously worse still.
I was surprised as they were even the 65 degree day affected range for all...
I’ve had mine for 3 weeks and has worked flawlessly for my R1S. Get about 21miles/hr of range. I bought it to future proof the house that it can charge whatever gets parked in the garage in the future.
Even if this is true which I don’t know how it would be capacitive touch through a vinyl cover. It still could be cycled faster to maintain heat without overheating anything or putting anything else at risk. It seems like this should be a reasonable update.
I live in the PNW where it is now getting wet and colder and my hands are generally cold most of the time. Nothing cuts through you like mid 30's and wet.
I am 4 weeks into my R1S ownership and loving it, mostly. What I noticed on the heated steering wheel is it will warm up quite nicely but...
In a related note my heated steering wheel doesn’t get much more than slightly warm. It seems to warm up well but then very quickly throttle back and not heat as well. My wife’s MDX gets nice and toasty and the same for the heated seats. I can feel it but it is far from hot on the hottest...
I’ve had mine installed for 10 days and not a single issue with my R1S. I get 11.5KW and 22mile/hr of charging. Has worked flawlessly but hopefully I don’t have issues.
