Got a plug kit, pliers, and gloves on the list. Ordered pucks too just in case. I think that’s the bare minimum to be prepared. Don’t see the need for a Jack.
Apparently if you unlock the Rivian with the key card you need to put the vehicle in drive within 60 seconds or else it times out and says no key present. The fix is to exit the vehicle, lock it with the card, unlock, then put in drive. I just learned this the hard way today.
I just got my first flat with an EV. Also my first experience getting a flat without a full spare.
3 4” nails were deeply imbedded in my drivers rear tire. Noticed when I parked because I heard the unmistakable hissing sound.
Lesson 1: I should have had work gloves and pliers stored in my...
Got a ride down there. They were pressing the brake. I closed the door, locked it with the card, unlocked it, tried myself…VOILA!
Good to know for the future.
Short version: Gen1 R1S got a flat. Dropped it at Discount Tire over weekend with TWO key cards (just in case). Discount Tire is calling me now saying both cards will unlock the vehicle but cannot get the car in drive. Say they handle Rivians all the time, know how to do it, but just keep...
“I see you missed my post” is a weird flex…
I only use PAAK (like most people). So now that WAAK is an option, the ring’s utility seems very limited.
Now that I've noticed it I can't unsee it! If the interior silver visible was painted black I think it would be fine. Probably going to get some thick black rubber foam to fill the gap - hoping that's visually appealing without affecting functionality.
Yes. I put that it was squeaky and sent a video. Tech was like “has it been like that the whole time?” I said yeah since I got it, thought it was normal. He said “man that would drive me crazy!”
I never noticed the huge gap below the tailgate until I took an eye-level picture after wrapping my silver bumper black.
1. Is this normal?
2. Has anyone done anything to conceal it (i.e., thick rubber foam)?
3. Should I even care (I do notice it all the time now!)?
This might sound dumb…and it may just be in my head…BUT I swear when I turn the regen up the accelerator requires more pedal force to go. In other words, I wonder if you would have quicker acceleration from a stop if regen is turned down.
No trucks - and I believe this includes TRUE SUVs. Lucid is targeting sedan/crossover/minivan types. Really cool cars and hope the best for them - but other than being new and electric, they’re not really competing with any Rivian.
