Well learned this the hard way today… Own multiple pins, fit every other receiver on every other car. But not the Rivian R1S. Sigh… Now off to purchase one longer than 3”…

UPDATE: Mobile service just swung by this morning and after about 15 minutes my door handle is completely new and feels SO MUCH BETTER. Highly recommend getting this looked at if you’re like me and just assumed it was normal!

What changes are being made? And what will the new version cost? Current version says it’s on backorder.

2024 R1S. Everything else is actually built better than the 2022/2023 R1S/R1T loaners I’ve gotten. Also you’re confusing the medal “handle” that opens the door inside with what I’m talking about - the door pull grab handle that you would use to close the door. The Gen2 still has that.

2 questions: 1. Is it CONFIRMED that Standard + battery is a larger software-locked battery? 2. If so, are those owners able to charge higher (because 100% wouldn’t actually be 100%)? Or run it down lower (because 10% wouldn’t actually be 10%)? Or both? Or neither?

Yeah the thing is there are multiple third party online video reviews that call this out on Gen 1, so while it may be inconsistent (like a lot of things Rivian), I don’t think I’m alone. Glad to hear Gen 2 is improved!

I don't disagree - but I would call out that this could provide a little juice when otherwise not available (i.e., off-grid), so those watts have a higher "value". I think it's a limited use case overall, and overpriced for what it provides, but if executed properly there could be a cooler...

Wondering if I need to. I’ll check the other doors. But I’ve seen multiple online video reviews complaining about the same thing so just assumed it was “standard”.

In my Rivian, the cheapest feeling interior part is the door pull. I assume all four doors share the same issue but I only ever use the driver’s door. It is a little loose, I can hear it squeak, and is just very cheap feeling. Every time I grab it to close my door I think - there HAS to be a way...
