Who cares if a EV truck gets 400miles of range with local/urban driving where there are plenty of charging options available.
The MP does not deliver the 400 mile range for the customers that needed it for road trips (70-80mph), towing, adventuring/off grid camping. Kwh is what correlates to...
I can understand the economics/payload & weight concerns behind not offering the 11 module pack at the time. Chevy's 3wt is good for towing/payload but the unladen efficiency is lacklustre. I would much prefer the Rivian package with similar towing range which always comes down to kwh capacity...
R1T
-Cab forward design leaning in the direction of Canoo or Telo, the 4.5' box is not practical for much & what's the purpose the long hood on an EV it could easily be 6-12" shorter(vans still pass crash tests). This would reduce the bulbousness of the front end and likely drop the Cd as well...
Please explain how you are a jerk with a Hummer EV & not the RST? Are you a jerk with a CT with the range extender or say a Unimog driver?
So you have a RST on order?
Admittedly I would find a 3WT with a mid-gate somewhat appealing.
I don't see to many people driving around in Unimogs no sense in comparing the two.
It's the most efficient EV (or ICE) truck currently available in relation to what it is currently being compared to.
There are no shortage of people using full size trucks as daily drivers.
The R1T MP demand would have improved if they actually came out with a real MP at a fair up-charge.
Many truck buyers need the KW, hopefully this happens sometime after the pre-order holders have been cleared out.
The Silverado is way too heavy, can't wait to hear about tread life. The efficiency is not great either, but a good option for towing. I would maybe consider the 3WT if it had the mid-gate.
No, they should just make all the LP with the 142/149 pack. Then reintroduce the 180kwh MP.
This is what I have:
R1T with Max pack will only be available in a Dual-Motor AWD configuration.
Quad-Motor + Max pack will not be selectable in the configurator beginning in early 2023. We plan to add a Quad-Motor with additional capability at a later date that will pair with the Max pack...
R1S 35,500km/22k miles since May 2023
Low vin 58xx, minimal issues, radio fades in/out & power hood just stopped powering up in addition to the panel gaps that were initially taken care of. I think the rear climate control could be better.
QM LP A/T, going to get 30K miles on these tires with...
Me too but that is not going to be available at early adopter pricing.
They have been beyond generous in extending 2018 pricing for nearly 6 years while under considerable inflation.
Zero chance
There is no Max (Iet's be real here its's a Large+(barely) The Standard+ has more additional range over Standard
The Quad Max (Large+) is not a thing until after all the preorders are expired, understandably.
They are not going to throw in extra modules at 2018 pricing for obvious...
I am now going to have to choose between the two and am having a hard time believing it is 25%.
The tests & effICiency #'s show otherwise, having a hard time with the extra $10K
The extra payload is certainly a bonus however.
R1S owner, pulling trigger on R1T before deadline.
YES would buy again (or lease)
No remorse
I believe they will survive
Could always buy used if depreciation is a concern.
Get the 20" & swap to 275/60 when they wear out or swap immediately for more efficiency.
Some good points were brought...
