This screams denial. CT will be in production by end of year. Following that, half the Rivian orders will cancel and those who don’t, will lose a ton in resale value. I’m not a Elon hugger but there has been a lot of work done last year to the factory to produce this. When it arrives, no matter...
Part of snow mode should keep handles out so you can open truck. Or enable the door pop feature like Tesla has now so you can open door without use of handle.
Probably need 2x that to cover home electricity and variances beyond the wh/mi used. Driving 13k miles last year with a MY but small house, we used 1000kw per month. Winter months are about 1/3 the production rate of summer at best in California. I bet you’ll need a 15kw southern facing PV...
No need to precondition to drive to work. Period. It only improves cabin temp and lowers wh/mi at the expense of using more house energy. If you don’t need every drop of range or cabin fully warm, preconditioning isn’t necessary.
Y’all should be loving Tesla. They set the bar and pathway for BEV to be a reality. They also se lt the bar in terms of charging production rates, software updates, and capability. It’s not an off-road vehicle but I bet 95% of the users here don’t take it on anything more than a forest road and...
Not a troll but just saying, Rivian is a great mall crawler. Adventure vehicle, I think not. Unless you like stressful adventures that waste time and energy.
Tesla at 135K OTD for a base model and a Rivian R1S is $30k cheaper easily. That 30k can pay for a lot of rental cars and other things where the R1S is deficient.
