  1. Tesla Price Cuts Across The Board

This screams denial. CT will be in production by end of year. Following that, half the Rivian orders will cancel and those who don’t, will lose a ton in resale value. I’m not a Elon hugger but there has been a lot of work done last year to the factory to produce this. When it arrives, no matter...
  2. Tesla Price Cuts Across The Board

Agree with this. Cybertruck is going to crush Rivian. Rivian will become boutique and barely survive.
  3. Tesla Price Cuts Across The Board

Good choice. Hitch is super useful and good value.
  4. Vampire Drain - 4.57 kWh/day, 8 miles rated range per day

When you put it that way..wow. Ugh. How is that good for environment.
  5. Vampire Drain - 4.57 kWh/day, 8 miles rated range per day

Based on current production alone, there is a waste of 21,000,000 kw per year due to vampire drain. That’s unacceptable.
  6. PSA: Check if your Rivian is locked ?

Part of snow mode should keep handles out so you can open truck. Or enable the door pop feature like Tesla has now so you can open door without use of handle.
  7. Donner Summit live video - Whose Rivian is that?

Heat pump makes a big difference. Tesla are just so much more efficient.
  8. Vampire Drain - 4.57 kWh/day, 8 miles rated range per day

That’s expensive. And wasteful. Wonder if charger keeps vehicle awake.
  9. Help figuring out solar

Probably need 2x that to cover home electricity and variances beyond the wh/mi used. Driving 13k miles last year with a MY but small house, we used 1000kw per month. Winter months are about 1/3 the production rate of summer at best in California. I bet you’ll need a 15kw southern facing PV...
  10. Tesla Price Cuts Across The Board

3.7 AB is the number for M3 long range.
  11. Rivian out West: R1T off the beaten path ?

Excellent photos. Great color contrast. Good eye for landscape and positioning. Excellent post.
  12. Alexa, Navigation and LTE Subscription (or lack of)

Tesla allows you to connect to your phone hot spot for network. Presume Tivian will do the same.
  13. Preconditioning battery?

No need to precondition to drive to work. Period. It only improves cabin temp and lowers wh/mi at the expense of using more house energy. If you don’t need every drop of range or cabin fully warm, preconditioning isn’t necessary.
  14. 1000 mile skiing, ice climbing and camping trip in R1T - interesting notes

Nice write up but this is a better trip for van life than EV truck. ?
  15. The good, the bad, the ugly - 2,600 mile round trip Denver to Michigan in the R1T

Y’all should be loving Tesla. They set the bar and pathway for BEV to be a reality. They also se lt the bar in terms of charging production rates, software updates, and capability. It’s not an off-road vehicle but I bet 95% of the users here don’t take it on anything more than a forest road and...
  16. The good, the bad, the ugly - 2,600 mile round trip Denver to Michigan in the R1T

Not a troll but just saying, Rivian is a great mall crawler. Adventure vehicle, I think not. Unless you like stressful adventures that waste time and energy.
  17. The good, the bad, the ugly - 2,600 mile round trip Denver to Michigan in the R1T

None of this would happen in a Model X. So disappointing to read this.
  18. The Rivian R1S Destroys The Tesla Model X (I Own Both) - Owner's Delivery Review

Tesla at 135K OTD for a base model and a Rivian R1S is $30k cheaper easily. That 30k can pay for a lot of rental cars and other things where the R1S is deficient.
  19. Undriveable at night in wet snow due to LED headlights not melting snow & ice

You don’t want HB in active snow conditions. It acts as a mirror for the light and blinds you from seeing further ahead.
