Let us know how bad the rim scratches are after your first use.
  2. R1S Spare Tire & Onboard Air Compressor - All the details and how it works

Thanks. I was always curious about the deflation process. How cool that it retracts to its original position!!
  3. First winter overnight in the RTT on R1T

Dollar to dollar, it’s cheaper to heat with diesel than electricity. Although that is a dumb idea there. Stepping over a dollar to pick up a nickel.
  4. First winter overnight in the RTT on R1T

I second the diesel heater option. There is combined AIO units on eBay for cheap. Pipe in the heat. A 5-8kw system should suffice in sub freezing temperatures. They sip Fuel too.
  5. Need new tires replacement on R1T after 16K miles

The AT3 have more aggressive tread patterns which go against efficiency. You’re better off going to a Michelin LTX or any other HT type tire. The LT tires will also give you longer tread wear and can run at lower pressures. You’re also better off driving 60-65mph if you’re looking for pure...
  6. ? Post Your Best Photo Here For Year-End Rivian Mosaic!

Missed opportunity to not have the hood up as well. Also, looks like a Saturn or Honda Element commercial with doors open looking through.
  7. Need new tires replacement on R1T after 16K miles

They are not 34” - they are 33” which saves some weight. Not sure if OE are LT tires but LT are better for off road than P rated tires. LT are also significantly heavier.
  8. This R1T gives new definition to Mall Crawler

Good picture to create a meme too. “Testing underbody shield - it’s electrified!” “Who is charging at who?”
  9. This R1T gives new definition to Mall Crawler

I would think they could back out and park in another spot without much effort. Why did they just leave it there?
  10. STEALTH PPF MIDNIGHT BLACK R1T w/ OCEAN COAST interior and 22″ Sport Dark wheels

Truck looks fire. If I went black, I’d have to get PPF. They did great work!
  11. Guess I need some snow tires... my R1T hood now has a nice dent (on factory 20" A/T)

I see black ice. Maybe that contributed? Snow pack should have built up enough resistance to help turn. Alas, being 3k heavier, maintaining direction will be more difficult. Physics wants you to maintain course.
  12. Rivian R1S vs BMW iX comparison review by Car and Driver

Car and driver has long been funded by the likes of BMW and Honda. That’s why they are always the top of the “shoot outs”
  13. Something is missing here.... can you spot it?

A winch? Some mud on the side from an actual adventure? A flashy light bar?
  14. R1T isn't a 'Truck'? Think Again. Best vehicle I've ever owned, hands down.

LOL a Tesla MY could do everything you R1T did including the trailering. It’s not a truck for one solid reason: 4.5’ bed. It’s as much as a truck as a Subaru Baja or Hyundai Santa Cruz. Payload also sucks and is the limiting factor for towing/hauling. Its as much of a truck as the EV Hummer...
  15. Hacking Rivian security with Flipper Zero (Spoiler Alert: Rivians are built like a fortress)

They have Bluetooth range extenders as well. This is what is commonly used to “hack” a Tesla parked in the driveway if owner phone is nearby. I’d prefer a standard key that has immediate response and accurate proximity functionality rather than the delayed set up in current form. How often are...
  16. Replacement battery cost

Save money by buying a 4 year old Toyota. Guaranteed to save more than you will ever with an EV. EV is luxury. Nothing more. Saving time, gas, and maintenance, is a joke. Your air suspension is most likely to fail over a battery and cost you a fortune.
  17. Check your seat bolts (missing in my R1T)

Loving the quality of these vehicles.
  18. R1T and Mountain Biking

Some PPM bleach would help w that. In small doses, it shouldn’t be harmful and help delay or prevent mildew/mold/slime growth.
  19. Electric Coolers - worth the cost?

This is what I had and used for years. There is a video on alipcoolers on how to tune the settings so you can adjust accuracy of thermostat, change swing temps, etc. fantastic value overall. Uses about 50wh of energy so on a large battery, it can last a day or two without significant impact. A...
