My truck came with 21” wheels and I got a matching OE spare. I’m considering getting a set of 20” brights, but don’t want to buy a fifth one as a spare. If I were to get a flat on the 20s would it be ok to mix in the 21 spare? The tire diameters are a bit different. Seems like it should be ok...
This was last winter at my place near Pinecrest lake in California.
I used chains for a couple of days, but so did at least 80% of all the four wheel drive trucks up there. It was a super heavy storm. I may never use the chains again, but I was sure glad I had them on hand.
Pro tip: The chains...
I've got some experience in snow with 21s. They work well on plowed roads. I bought these chains and they fit great. Needed them to drive up a steep grade that was not plowed. 21s without chains are pretty good. 21s with chains are unstoppable, but not necessary under most conditions.
I’ve lemoned two cars in California. The rule is that service has to fail four attempts at fixing the same problem or the car spends more than 30 days in repair for that problem.
I’m actual past five repair attempts on fixing a front axle issue with my R1T right now and am considering asking...
Did they offer you the Michelin's that are rumored to come out soon?

Here's an update for those interested:
5th service - new washers again. New hubs ("bearings were defective")
I'm about 3 weeks after this 5th repair attempt. As usual I drove away from the service center with a silent front end, but now I'm starting to hear the creaking come back.
Still...
Well, I'm pretty sure I'm hearing the beginnings of the creak coming back this morning. It's more prevalent when driving in conserve mode. I feel like I have a great case for a replacement vehicle, just not sure that I want to right now. The powered tonneau is really awesome (now that it works)...
I’m about a week and a half after my last attempted repair and the creak is still gone. On the last repair they replaced the hubs and bearings as well as put on new washers. I don’t believe this was ever a bearing noise, so I’m mostly expecting the creaking noise to return.
I’ll update after a...
I'm a few hundred miles from the odometer being 18,000 miles so I might want to consider going nuclear and bringing up the lemon law option to the service center when I'm there next week
I'd prefer not to do this, but I am getting pretty annoyed taking in the truck for constant repairs. I knew...
I haven’t really been up close to any other Rivian than a loaner I got once, but does everyone’s creak? The service advisor keeps trying to repair it and expects it to go away. If this creak is on every vehicle why would they try and fix it?
I'd like to hear if people have had this issue resolved. I've gone into the service center at least four times for this and am going in a for a fifth next week.
1st service - replace bolts
2nd service - add spacer washers
3rd service - replace half shafts, put in squash plate
4th service -...
Another thought: why is Ford, Rivian, etc planning on making their own adapters? Can’t there just be a third party make them to CCS and NACS spec. Maybe Rivian can sell it in the gear shop, but no need to develop their own. The same adapter should be able to connect a Mach E, R1T, EV6, etc… all...
I would really love to be able to use either supercharger or ccs networks on my once or twice a year road trips. It seems silly to carry an expensive adapter the other 350 days a year. Someone should set up a rental service for the adapter. $30/week to rent a $500 adapter. Or maybe I'll buy one...
