  1. Comma.AI cable routing advice

That’s what I’ve heard. I’m still on the factory Pirellis, with just over 40k on them (21”). I was planning on switching to the Wranglers (and new wheels) when the time comes.
  2. Comma.AI cable routing advice

After about 2000 miles with it, still love it! The turning limitations are a bit annoying in some places, specifically anywhere mountainous: this drive took me through the Rockies and Appalachians, and in both there were some turns—even on the interstate—that were too tight without manual...
  3. Comma.AI cable routing advice

I’m now about 350 miles into an ~2000 mile road trip. So far I have not been on a single road where Highway Assist would have been an option. I’ve only disengaged OpenPilot when going through towns with turns/stops or a few twisty mountain roads where I just didn’t want to have to trust it. It...
  4. Comma.AI cable routing advice

I’ve only put a couple hundred miles in with it so far, but based on my limited experience, I’m inclined to agree with everything that @LivingInKaos said. I’ve actually been very happy with Highway Assist overall, but we live off a two-lane US highway, a minimum of 20 miles from anything, and...
  5. Comma.AI cable routing advice

That got the job done, thanks! Really helpful video!
  6. Comma.AI cable routing advice

I just got the Comma installed in my Gen1 R1T. It’s currently installing software, so my install appears to be functional. However I haven’t figured out how to open up the little box behind the mirror to route the cable through at the end, so it’s a little ugly right now. I didn’t want to risk...
  7. Ionna Chargers not yet showing up on the Nav maps - any idea when they might show up?

IONNA in Kansas has really been awesome. The one slight misfire we’ve had was at the Abilene rechargery, where the restaurant it was at was closed (as in not even in operation. Yet?), and there’s not a lot else around there If you need a bathroom/drink/food besides Legacy Kansas, which is…...
  8. Ionna Chargers not yet showing up on the Nav maps - any idea when they might show up?

I was right! But also not! The Reynaldsburg Rechargery does show up on the map, but not as a charger. However, if you click on it, it does know that it’s a charger and show you availability information, and even which specific chargers are taken if you go into the details.
  9. Ionna Chargers not yet showing up on the Nav maps - any idea when they might show up?

I’m pretty sure I saw the Reynaldsburg Rechargery outside Columbus, OH in my nav the other day, including availability data.
  10. Gen 1 Vampire Drain (Possibly) Solved (or Hacked)

I have, but I don’t have great data yet. I recently left my R1T in long term parking at the Albuquerque airport for about three weeks. Unfortunately for our purposes (but generally a good thing), the parking is shaded, so I saw the normal ~2%/day drain. While parked at home, where it gets...
  11. New Rivian service centers coming to Colorado (Centennial and Louisville)

Good! Hopefully this will pull business away from Colorado Springs, for those of us who need to drive up from New Mexico! (Really wish they’d figure out a way to open an SC up on one of the Pueblos, like Tesla did in Pojoaque.)
  12. Started getting random system faults when using cruise control/driver assistance

It’s just anecdotal, but I was experiencing this issue, and was told by service that it was a firmware problem and would hopefully be resolved in a future update. However after discovering and clearing some debris that rodents had collected in a cavity hidden behind the frunk bin, the problem...
  13. What'd you name / nickname your Rivian?

I’ve never been one for naming my vehicles, but ever since an AI photo captioner misread the tailgate as TITANIA, my truck has had a name.
  14. Cruise/Driving Assist Randomly Cutting Out

So here’s an interesting thing. I recently had my R1T in for service, and I brought up this issue. They told me that it’s a known firmware issue that affects certain vehicles, and that it should be solved with a future software update (as well as that another guy who had his truck in at the same...
  15. Gen 1 Vampire Drain (Possibly) Solved (or Hacked)

Yeah, the temperature is definitely a concern. I already actually have the Lifepo battery that I’m planning to put in the middle, just haven’t had the time to get everything else sorted yet, and wanted to have this set up before I leave the truck in an airport parking lot at the end of the week...
  16. Gen 1 Vampire Drain (Possibly) Solved (or Hacked)

Yes, the Cascadia 4x4 branded box in the picture in my post from yesterday. Cables from the solar panel are routed into the frunk to the controller, then another set of cables is running to it from the 12V battery. This is a photo the setup being tested before I routed all the wiring.
  17. Gen 1 Vampire Drain (Possibly) Solved (or Hacked)

Well, I lost 1% off my SoC since yesterday, however I didn’t get the panel set up until the afternoon, and it never got full sun, so it wasn’t a great test. The panel is currently in full sun, at a decent angle, and generating 65.9W. I wish it gave better info on the charging performance, but at...
  18. R1T topper shell by Wakeshield

In addition to being a nice truck topper, the crate it comes in makes for excellent temporary flooring, too!
  19. Gen 1 Vampire Drain (Possibly) Solved (or Hacked)

I finally got around to wiring up the Cascadia solar panel directly to the battery! I'll leave the truck unplugged for as long as I can to see if and how it affects the VD. It's a 94 W panel (I think, would have to check the label), and even in partial shade where I have it parked right now it...
  20. ABRP sending me to Tesla chargers rather than RANs

How do you have your charging preferences set? I haven’t told it to avoid Tesla, but have several other networks ranked above it. I still get Tesla charge stops, but only when they’re much better than the other options.
