ChargePoint sells a replacement cable/handle (as well as a NACS conversion cable/handle). Are the telecomm connectors (probably not the right term) on these things generic enough that one maker's should work with another's unit?
Just so I understand:
1) Are you saying Rivian should give the OP a new EVSE even though he dropped and broke it?
2) Which other sellers repair their EVSEs and then send them back out?
I ask, in part, based on my experience looking for parts for a Chargepoint Home Flex.
Thanks for any...
Did your accountant enter "8/15/2022" on Line 3 of Form 8936?
If they/she/he did, and if there are no other errors, I would think you'd appeal.

The above is how I interpret Rivian's response. That said, when my ChargePoint Home Flex kicks in to "top off" the battery at my pre-set limit (70%), the EVSE pretty much goes directly to the rate it's set for (currently 24 amps, so about 5.76kw), and the...

From Rivian's Jan. 11 e-mail message announcing the update:
"Also, if your vehicle is plugged in, it will maintain range during preconditioning as well as precondition the battery pack for consistent drive performance."
@rpo and @HaveBlue :
Thanks for the back-and-forth; it may help me not burn down something someday.
FYI, I did find a wiring diagram for another manufacturer's version of the TT-30P/5-15P to 15-40R adapter. It appears (to me) to be wired in the way you both suggested.

Regarding the TT-30 receptacle found at many campgrounds:
The RV-centric websites I've checked seem to view the 30-amp threshold (rather than the 80% of 30 amps threshold) as the line not to cross when plugging in. (One example...
Form 8936 doesn't have a line for "date acquired"; that's a TurboTax thing. I don't know why TurboTax asks that question but, whatever response you enter (and TurboTax accepts) doesn't end up on Form 8936. I think I entered the date of the purchase agreement as the "acquired" date and...
