A large difference between Tesla and Rivian. I had one of the first Covid built model y’s. Zero problems. There was a recall on a sensor and I got in, left with a EV loaner and picked up my vehicle that night. Since then our family has purchased 2 additional model y’s. Again zero flaws...
From recent news release the back truck of the Cybertruck had fireworks and propane tanks in it. Video appears to depict that was an explosion and not a battery in thermal runaway.
Seems like something that would be doable thru a download. That’s how Tesla did it as the 2015 models did not have the pin feature originally. Agree would like to have this added layer of security sooner rather than later. And to add to this a valet mode will be needed so you could leave your...
Just had mobile service perform identical services on my R1t. Have to admit the inspection is pretty basic but need to remember what we are paying for is the trained tech that knows what to look for. It was a very positive experience.
Also odd that a person that smells smoke first contacts Rivian. When I try to reach them I am holding for 10 minutes or so. Voice is also very calm for a potential serious situation. Probably more to this story.
I have an August 22 build. I keep checking with Rivian when I have regular service and they claim no frame issues in the vin 9000 series to date. But I do plan to pull the front tub and drop the rear undercover and look at welds myself when the weather warms up
To clarify I am not concerned about front drive train and rear drive train running different temperatures. The rear drive system being off 2-7 degrees side to side is what I have recently noticed and just find it odd while the front motors are dead on left to right.
I wish that was the issue but there is a variance in temps regardless of which way the sun is shining. I am guessing maybe a temp sensor or a driveline oil cooling system issue.
Anyone noticing this. When driving in 40-60 mph range front drive motors are a consistent 100-105 degrees F. The rear drive motors are running 90-100 degrees but vary from left to right side between 2-7 degrees F. Truck runs ok just noticed this recently with 2022 truck. When I stop at a long...
I would be OK if Rivian just shared the correct replacement procedure for the battery or batteries and a direct supplier. As you can tell from the many posts on this forum many of us are skilled mechanics, engineers, technicians and want to be able to perform our own basic repairs. Why so “...
At one time you could live by what consumer reports stated publicly. Now their reporting for products and not just autos is way off and of no value to me any longer. It appears they get data second hand and then throw it out there
The clicking is normal as those are solenoids adjusting front and rear ride heights. If you have ride height in auto there will be many adjustments. I keep mine at a fixed height and no auto
You will have a similar issue with headlights being covered with snow/ice at night as the LED lighting does not generate sufficient heat to self defrost. It’s an issue for many manufacturers
2024 Model Y does not have a low regen mode any longer. Just full regen. Should be fun in the snow. I have communicated with Tesla and they have no immediate plans to remedy although this could be done via software update.
