I enjoyed the subtle shade Polestar threw at Tesla in its commercial.
I head Rivian planned to have a commercial spot this year and it’ll be ready s00n.
The article says Rivian has “yet to produce a consumer vehicle” in the paragraph directly before stating Rivian fell short of delivering 1,200 vehicles. Pretty bad reporting.
Interesting investment though. Not worth what he paid if he bought all those shares in 2021.
YES!
At this point there are only two options: 1) Rivian has made a decision not to share this information even at the risk of pissing off half of its customer and pre-order base. If so, why? What is Rivian hiding? or 2) Rivian has hired the most inept PR/Communications team ever. If this is...
@skyote What is your basis for stating R1S are coming off the line?
Rivian has not taken a single action that warrants giving it the benefit of the doubt on production or deliveries to this point but I hope you are right.
The Chicago auto show starts tonight and Rivian does not even have a booth. I want them focused on production but I can't believe they can't get at least an R1T to one of the nation's largest auto shows 2 hours up the road from Normal.
To me that's important, the terrible lack of communication - particularly for R1S - already has me less likely to encourage friends to order. At a minimum, it would come with a big warning. At this point, it will take a lot for Rivian to fully win back my trust because I think receiving a high...
I voted 500-750 and expect 100% of whatever they deliver are R1Ts.
I fear the earnings call update could be they simply can't figure out both R1S and R1T production right now so they are going to focus on the R1T and the R1S delivery windows will be pushed way back.
I just came across an interesting issue in the Netherlands where a group of environmental activists is calling out Rivian for potentially partnering with a company called VDL Nedcar (http://techzle.com/vdl-nedcar-in-conversation-with-rivian-about-production). I missed this story about Rivian...
Remember, the NYT article was a rehash for folks on this forum. We represent some miniscule partial percentage of the American public so this is new to most people.
I am hopeful that enough negative press like this might push Rivian to communicate better. Last week they had social media posts...
If they are still working out issues 3.5 years after announcing the vehicle in LA and 5 months after first "deliveries" then I am really concerned about what's going on in Normal. I have a July - Sept. window and think it's highly unlikely they make it. That means I get a 2022 LE when most...
I am growing deeply concerned that it is Feb. 8 and we have not heard of a single delivery to anyone in the Jan/Feb window. If Rivian can't hit a delivery window 1-3 months out from the Nov. emails then I don't know how they scale in any meaningful way in the first half of 2022.
Just as bad...
Rivian has posted to its instagram 3-days in a row. It's never managed twice in the same week in the last 6-8 months except for IPO week. It's not necessarily new information but maybe it's a sign of building engagement.
At least until they update R1S delivery windows for 2023.
Wow. Two days in a row with social media content! It's almost as if someone thought Rivian should try to get information out to a group beyond the diehards on this forum.
Still crickets on deliveries and R1S....
I understand to maximize battery life you typically want to avoid charging to 100%.
Is there a setting with Rivian that allows you to plug it in to your home charger but stop at a certain point (e.g., 80%) so you don't need to go out in the middle of the night to unplug?
