I understand your points and they are completely valid.
I also don't blame Rivian for getting other older orders out of the way if they have the supplies to get it done.
Based on the config screenshot I bet the vehicle is a FG with BM interior. Maybe they made the majority of LEs in this...
For those saying don't make an ADV trim until all of the LEs are done sound completely entitled.
There are many of us ADV preorder holders that have watched LE orders placed after us get their deliveries and we bit our tongues...
This is great news and I'm doubling down what @R1Sky Business stated.
It doesn't make sense for them to "finish" all of the LEs before starting ADV. That's not how batch manufacturing works at all. Hell, it's just a few pieces of stitching and nothing else different between the two trims...
That is completely against everything posted on this website.
I'm 99% sure your guide has no idea what they are taking about and I'd question them further.
For example, some folks have bought wheels from the gear shop today and the Rivian CSRs stated that the wheels can only be shipped to...
As a stockholder this is absolutely great to see...At this point Rivian is a tech and customer service company more so than actually manufacturing vehicles...
If they get the tech right and keep people informed/happy - that will translate into long term success.
I'll note that I've been very...
Hopefully they get drowned with people buying wheels heading into winter, booking up SC appointments and move up the need to make wheel selection changes in the UI ASAP!
Hope your listening Tony!!
Nope - it says we have to call to order. Not doing that now.
Curious to hear from someone who goes through with calling and ordering. How much is shipping? Will they only ship to SCs since it requires a visit to the SC? Etc
I think separately. My vision is to tell my guide (when I get one) that I'm ordering 20ATs from the gear shop and I'd like for those to be installed on the vehicle at delivery and the four new 21s to be in the trunk.
I find it interesting that you and others have stated the same exact thing.
I truly believe the R1s were engineered from day one surrounding the 20ATs and that is my deciding factor for wanting them to be my "daily drivers".
Having a backup set of 21s would just be icing on the cake...now I...
I might just do that. It's a $3500 upgrade for me to get the Black ATs...at this point I might as well take the 21s for free and for an additional $1600 ($5100 in gear shop) have two sets of wheels...8 new tires...etc...
Those 21inch tires themselves are probably worth $400 a pop.
Yeah...it's definitely perceived as complaining if you want my honest feedback.
Lots of folks on here with much earlier pre order dates waiting in the same line as you...
Likely true but they will get to a point where LE and ADV will be made side by side.
Said differently, they aren't waiting for every single LE order to be completed before beginning the manufacturing process for ADV.
Maybe the right way to think about it...not if the vehicle can be driven but rather driven safely. That service manager probably doesn't like the idea of you driving without a working comm module.
Maybe this isn't so cut and dry. More case by case.
