Steering column locks were originally mandated for theft purposes, but once the ignition key disappeared, things seemed to have changed. My daily driver (ICE, push button start and electric power steering) doesn't have a steering column lock either. Not sure what the law actually states as the...
I sincerely hope you're right as my average vehicle is 20 years old. I can't say that any of my 20-year old computers have held up as well, and that's the direction EVs are going. While they're new and shiny, sure, they're cheaper, but I hold my vehicles for longer than many.
Speaking of, has...
2023's will likely have better resale as a LOT of people avoid first model year vehicles from existing manufacturers and will even be more likely to do so for a brand new start-up.
I'd expect at least one additional color added to the roster, and maybe the loss of yellow.
I'm guessing a...
This is an exceptionally un-sporty tire based on my Silverado. Constant squealing in turns and it simply couldn't put down any power (regardless of various pressures tried). I know I drive more aggressively, but I'd definitely not consider this tire for something with almost twice the power of...
I'm used to driving a vehicle from a manufacturer that nobody knows about, for the past six years now. If you're an ass like me, you'll quickly get tired of answering the same question over and over, and just make stuff up. "It's the new Camaro truck", or something like that. It's fun...
I hope Rivian takes many of Munro's suggestions with a grain of salt as it isn't all about manufacturing, especially for a company that has the repair side locked down thus far. As someone that has worked on my own vehicles for decades, I'm not a fan of this new idea of just replacing a whole...
I keep seeing comments on keeping production simple, but at this price point, I'd love to see a la carte pricing for seat color, wood color and headliner color and allow you to mix and match as desired.
I still don't agree with the margin argument unless there are other major supply constraints (which there very well could be) impeding the production of trucks. If the batteries are the main supply constraint, putting those extra cells into another truck and getting it out quicker should yield...
I think cancelling the Explore package and changing the OC interior was more of a test run for Rivian to see how customers reacted. With that knowledge, they're likely considering what the fallout for ditching the big battery would be. RJ has already acknowledged that battery supply is, and...
I've never really paid attention and have yet to see one in person. Are you talking about grab bars on the A pillars to pull yourself up and in? I was happy to see "oh ****" handles above the doors at the very least.
Flared fenders, wider track width, prerunner style spare carrier in the bed and a high approach angle tube/aluminum bumper up front, with some good lighting of course.
Eww. Per this post, the speaker grills are just black. No silver-looking metal trim like the rest of the interior has or anything, just cheap black.

I think the roof/ceiling speakers are even worse than the A-pillar speakers, but thankfully I wouldn't see those as often when I'm behind the wheel. A dark headliner would be my preferred solution.
