I HAVE a GX470! Our kids just got a GX460...I was like hey this is nice but I got the Rivian coming...now thinking I'll just wait for the Lexus of EV SUVs. I made a few thousand on the IPO, and they brought one by my house for that first drive, but - right now - I think I'm out too.
This is really odd...I don't see exactly that view, but looking on the portal right now I see below. Looks like your R1S LE is priced different than mine? I ordered Feb 2019...did they change the price based on when you ordered?
[Edit - you have you be talking R1T with the kitchen - and must be...
Mine's at $80k with Large - looking at the configurator they still don't have the bigger one - they also don't price the new Dual Motor (not available with Launch Edition).
I don't actually recall what the price was before - was it $70k?
I had problems with it during my test drive in December - in particular I was trying to use it to change the rear passenger reading light which kept cycling between off and on. It worked...kinda...for a few minutes and then locked solid. The Rivian employee said that he would have to reboot the...
When he ended up early on in that driveway/street end, he should have left it there. After that, heās basically saying he wants to damage his car and potentially injure himself.
This article just came across my news feed:
Ford dealers nearly doubling price of F-150 Lightning with āmarket adjustmentsā
That's gonna leave a mark.
I'm not likely to end up with a RTT - but configuration is getting closer to the R1S. I need to be able to carry a medium-large dog and that's looking like a challenge with the R1T.
I gave up on the tonneau - I switched to a R1S LE. It wasnāt just the tonneau - I didnāt like the tailgate, the fixed rear window, the buttons on the rail sides that would interfere with a canopy. In fact, after 3 years I still havenāt see a glimmer of a canopy. I had originally reserved the SUV...
He had a bunch of those buried in there..." the gimlet-eyed R1T"..." it can haul off like a spooked tuna"..."and wade through 3 feet of water. Most pickups can do that trick only once"..." strangely light and heavy, like an aluminum anvil".
I thought it was a unique take and an enjoyable read...
Agree 100%. I started with R1S...when the configurator came out went with R1T...had a first mile they brought to our house...and am currently leaning back to R1S. Not as attractive, but...the tonneau is really bugging me...there hasn't even been a hint of a camper shell...there's no opening in...
Honestly, that's not encouraging per the latest Consumer Reports reliability survey:
"Lexus was rated the most reliable automaker in Consumer Reportsā 2021 Auto Reliability Report, followed by Mazda and Toyota, while Jeep, Tesla and Lincoln were at the bottom of the list."
Quoting myself I know but...yeah this is a thing - here's what RJ said less than a year ago:
āYouāre starting to get into the long tail of use cases, but even there weāve designed the vehicle so you can have auxiliary battery packs. You can also charge Rivian-to-Rivian, which is a neat thing...
I haven't seen the truck bed mounted battery pack mentioned in a while:
"Rivian says that its battery pack may be available in several configurations to provide varying amounts of power and weigh "several hundred pounds or more," meaning that the company could theoretically sell...
