Is it just me, or do those hydraulic lines look seriously exposed?
Edit: as I look at them...wheel off and presumably the strut fully extended...the angle to the hose on the rear one looks...sharp. In my mind I see the wheel coming UP and the half loop of line hanging down and...well it looks...
Thanks @timesinks for this thread - it's really helped me mentally plan for our...heck, might switch back to the R1T since R1S seems to have become mythical. :)
The dog situation is going to require more thought. One of the other differences between the R1T and R1S is that the rear door of the...
Climate for you - or did you try leaving the dogs alone? Interesting to see your rear-seat setup...I switched back to the R1S in December because we were expecting another dog (a 5yo Samoyed - just got back from picking her up in Oregon yesterday!) and I wasn't sure the rear seat in the R1T...
Another excerpt from that shareholder letter:
"With the addition of the Standard battery pack, consumers will have the option for three different battery options for the R1T and two options for the R1S, diversifying our future R1 portfolio."
Similar here - ordered R1S in Feb 2019, switched to R1S when the configurator launched, got a May-June in November...did a test drive of a R1T in December and switched back to R1S. Crickets since then (except the pricing debacle).
I'm almost positive I saw someone say they "got the call" this week that they're getting their R1S in the "4-6 weeks" timeframe.
FWIW I ordered a R1S in Feb 2019...switched to R1T a year back and got a May/June window around Thanksgiving...switched back to R1S in December and was told by CS...
I obsessed about this area quite a bit before I switched back to R1S. In the PNW we have a lot of tree debris - and rain (you might have heard) - and this area is going to get a bunch of mulching pine needles. I never saw anything about cleaning it out and it struck me as a huge maintenance...
I don't think they are at the point where they can do high-end fit and finish.
More power? I don't need the power in the current models...I have a friend who wants to tow his Airstream who wants more battery...but more power?
So...significant other features? When I signed up 3 years ago I was...
Interesting comparison - if those are the out-the-door prices. The reports of Ford markups were alarming for anything coming from a traditional dealer. And I saw another post saying that a dealer told a customer this week a new Lightning order was 4-5 years until delivery.
When everything...
One variable - not sure if PA has a high sales tax on vehicles. In WA we pay 10.5% with a carveout for anything traded in through a new purchase. Flipping cars here is expensive.
That would make me uncomfortable - what if my financial conditions change? I would probably be fine with Rivian buying back the truck at price paid to pass along to another reservation holder.
I would expect - in the long run - it will increase the value of the brand. Yesterday's 13% decline...I would expect that to rebound though it's been funny to watch this morning...it actually went up prior to the letter, then it went down (currently around a point).
Well I think the "market" has spoken - stock is (as I write this) down 12% this morning. There's gonna be a meme about "pulling a Rivian" that comes out of this.
I am totally aligned with @STLBlues76 post - whatever personal satisfaction or pride I was anticipating in being an early supporter, purchaser, and investor...poof.
A lot of text messages with family and friends last night - a couple of them with pre-orders.
We were THIS close to having our...
