Thank you for a ray of positivity on a figuratively and literally gloomy day as I await an update on my R1T that needs a door repainted whilst reading a number of other bad news posts. I appreciate your post and look forward to joining you on the road in an R1T with a huge smile.
Agree, these occurrences really do seem to defy logic and I feel for those who are caught up in those weird situations. I've been following the one example you mention as well and that was an odd one. I'm not sure how exactly that happens and I wish I knew the details in that specific instance...
Hello there, I'm a [double checks annoyingly long job title quick] Global Lean Value Stream Manufacturing Technology Engineer. Really rolls off the tongue, eh? I'll give me two cents as I am in the midst of a a couple product launches using value streams in both the US and Asia.
It's not so...
Our truck is finally in MN and delivery was to be tomorrow morning but but alas... our guide has now reached out to let us know they found a paint issue on one of the doors.
Delivery now cancelled. Rough estimate for repair is around 2 more weeks. Writing as a means of catharsis for the bummer...
Yes. Do it on a warm day and go SLOW or you risk pulling paint with it. The film itself from a reputable mfg. won't harm the finish. Just don't be in a hurry - it's not a "yank it like a band-aid" thing.
They go so fast. Needles was gone before 8:00:30 AM. I'm glad the Parks are getting more people outside but it seems it's getting to the point where the biggest adventure is finding a parking spot or getting a permit.
We may bug you as we pass through Grand J.; seems like you know the off-road...

These are tricky to answer since it's tough to know your background, patience level and what you're looking to tackle.
I've used 3M 1080 and 2080 vinyl a few times. Latest was to DIY wrap my car's roof and roof box. It took two tries to get the roof right due to applying the film too cold the...
Perhaps, your PO date is well into 2020 but they seem to be building fast. You may nd up not have as long of a total wait time as us, once all is said and done and you take delivery. They seem to be able to switch paint colors quickly, too from factory photos so you may be surprised!
Wow that...
Hey JeremyP - Yes, today was our lucky day and got our two nights booked for our target dates. Gooseberry and Hardscrabble in Sept. Our hearts were pounding as 8 AM approached. Our 8 step purchase process also opened today so today has been a huge weight off.
I'm sorry to hear you missed out...
Finally got some good news today. PBA received this morning 56 days after confirming our build with our guide. And even more better-er, our guide called back this afternoon said we had been paired with a VIN. Feels really good.
Hearing from you all that there were several colors in the lot convinced us to make the journey (it's a 2.5 hr RT for us.)
Definitely worth it to finally see the colors in person. There were 11 R1Ts outside today inclusing Midnight Black, Canyon Red, Rivian Blue, Launch Green, LA Silver...
