I just signed up for EV America since they have a charger close to my house and work. I don't expect to use it much but I got worried since the Rivian charges about 20-30% slower than our Tesla. It took about 7 hrs to charge 60 miles yesterday.
I remember the guide saying the same thing about a drain plug. I wasn't really paying attention to this when I pulled it out, but I don't remember seeing a specific drainage site nor was there a tube at the bottom of the tub to drain out of. So based on the amount of electronics in there I...
I was originally going to pass a power wire thru the firewall. Luckily the Rivian has a 12v connection in the frunk, so I tapped into that. After looking with all that stuff I didn't even attempt to find a grommet.
I'm coming from a couple of Teslas and a plug in hybrid of which I usually charge at home. Rarely do I go low on a battery. The Rivian seems to take more juice probably due to its weight and I see myself going to a public charger to top up. My only experience has been the Tesla superchargers...
Come to think of it, when I removed the frunk tub from the Tesla there was hardly anything in their compared to the Rivian. It looked like a golf cart.
The charger I ordered on Amazon. Superglue is superglue. The mount was just a piece I found in the garage. I wish I knew where or what it was for originally. My other option would have been to get a aluminum or steel plate from Home Depot and bend it in the same orientation.
Here is my customized phone mount. Found a flat rubberized plate of which I bent into an "L" shape and wedged it between the top dash panel. Superglued the mag charger onto it and ran the wire down to the 12v adapter socket
.
Needed to pass some wires from the bumper to the inside of the frunk. Removal is pretty straightforward.
-Remove the four plastic covers surrounding the frunk. The front piece is magnetic and the others have simple clips, just gently nudge them upwards and they release pretty easily.
-Remove...
Compared to the Model X or Y the Rivian seems to charge at a considerably slower rate than either Tesla. Also uses more energy for my typical commute compared to my Model Y, I guess this is to be expected due to its weight. I can see where I might run low on the battery on a busy weekend...
After waiting 3 years and probably changing the color 3 or 4 times, I ended up with white. Just had PPF placed on the front and rear quarter panel. Added some blaclk PPF to break up the monotony. Currently installing laser shifters and hard wiring a radar detector (With the Rivian's sexiness...

Sorry, I never really looked hard in the frunk, but if there is a 12v lighter plug that should suffice to tap into. I am installing some laser shifters in the front. I would prefer to have a controller on the inside of the car. If not, I can power it from the frunk and use my phone as the...
I was planning on installing my laser shifters this week. Did not realize there is no fuse box as per the above post? Maybe I’ll tap into the cigarette lighter. Stay tuned.
Lotta haters here. I'd rather see modified vehicles, beautiful locations, interesting off-road expeditions, etc. To me this is much better than seeing a picture of the same old truck in a parking lot.
