Hands-off and eyes-off isnāt legal everywhere. Plus, as mentioned above, they probably havenāt made final decisions on what they are willing to risk/allow in places where it is legal (for sake of corporate liability). These are probably the reasons for vague and inconsistent messaging.
Fault is either sensor or vehicle-side. Since you are under warranty just let them deal with it. Try a hard rest first. If it happens again, press and hold driver profile name in center display to capture diagnostics and have SC look for that.
Huh? It does have lane keep assist. As for further development on gen1ās Driver+, not happening ever. Theyāve moved on and gen1 production ended late spring of ā24. Makes no financial sense for them to devote resources to a soon-to-be minority of all customers.
Someone who has paid for the expensive subscription to Rivianās service portal would have to be willing to share what they paid for on the down low. Otherwise, the info you seek is not available to general public or owners.
Exactly. Rivian took the direction they took. They could change their mind later, or not. The car is how it is today. If you want a car today and the R2 is not for āyouā, and you cannot accept any explanation for why it is they way it is (OP did ask), then itās obviously not the one. Move along...
My R1T was my first EV. And prior to the demo drive for it I had never driven an EV. I am telling you it not a big deal and this⦠and other freak outs like it, are borderline hysteria. People are far more adaptable than they give themselves credit for. But, of course, believe whatever you wish...
And you only drove it for how many minutes? Like driving an unfamiliar ICE with different steering ratio, throttle response and brake performance: you get used to it in matter of a week. Even on high regen.
This issue is a nothing burger. Same reason I see little value in short test drives of...
I think in another thread it is said to be available in first software update. It will probably be just like the Road Cam feature in R1. https://stories.rivian.com/software-update-2023-14-0
That isnāt true. And I donāt think he would say anything that irresponsible. Even with Rivianās high regen itās still not aggressive enough to slow/stop vehicle quickly enough if initial speed is high enough. And if brake blending feature is enabled brakes will be applied automatically when the...
Plus, one pedal with high regen is just safer. Deceleration happens as soon as you begin to lift and ease off of the pedal. Thatās like braking as soon as you want to slow without ever breaking contact with the pedal (to move your foot to another). No lag.
Legacy OEMs try to make their EV feel like ICE because they are not convinced about EVs and are insecure that if they donāt do it their customers and other consumers wouldnāt buy their cars. What results are EVs that do not take full advantage of what EVs can offer.
Itās not that Rivian did it...
Learn to modulate the pedal. Think of it as a faucet or stereo volume knob. Figure it out and youāll wonder why you havenāt switched to proper EVs sooner. Itās not hard.
Nah, they are. Every single problem in the universe is Rivian's fault and Rivian's to solve. The complaints in this forum are setting new record lows each day.
