I'm not milking anything, just getting ready to buy a Rivian, which they are happy to sell me, at the price they have offered me. Just like you did - twice apparently.
Apparently my (and others') good fortune somehow offends your jealous and petty nature. And no I won't be quiet. Enjoy your...
Dude, whatever. Sure I preordered a Gen 1. Then they told me they won't deliver to my state since they have no service centers here. So I bought another vehicle instead. Then later they said they would deliver here, but still no service center so it's a risk. So I decided to wait a bit to see if...
I guess we need to wait for some actual testing in real world conditions. I'm not concerned about the range for day to day use, just for road tripping where an extra 27 miles (if that is the real difference) might make a difference in some of the remote/rural areas with poor charging...
Thanks all for the feedback. Now thinking it might be worth upgrading to Max pack after all...with 20% voucher it's an additional $5600 instead of $7000, for an additional 90 miles of range (280 vs 370). That's a pretty sizeable 33% bump in range for $5600.
I'm a preorder/voucher holder and have been waiting for the update to pull the trigger on a new 2025 R1S, Dual motor Large pack with AT upgrade.
I'm very happy with most of the updates and I'm pretty hesitant to buy the old version at this point. However, it seems the new Large pack has gotten...
Looks like a great solution for road trips.
Is the box long enough to fit skis in the 178-186 cm range?
EDIT: looks like the length is 5' so probably too short for my skis.
Any idea what the range or efficiency hit is at highway speeds?
I'm guessing refresh reveal with be the Dual motor only, and those who want Quads can get them in the shop at a discount till the new quads are revealed at some later date.
Seems like the improved highway range is due to the aero covers on the new 22" wheels as well as some efficiency gains from making the vehicles lighter, etc.
Thanks for posting - that's really valuable info about the significantly better efficiency with 20" AS 275/60/20 tires.
Seems like 20" is the way to go, not sure why they ever offered 21" at all. They absolutely should offer 20" with AS tires as an option, and it should be the default/free...
It looks pretty clear to me that they are the same wheels.
See this thread for lots more pictures and discussion of the new wheels:

I"m also waiting for the refresh to use the voucher on a new R1S. Still hoping they eventually put a service center here in NM, seems like they will need one if they plan to sell R2 and R3 vehicles here in any real numbers...
And thanks to all who have posted. Seems R1S inventory is down to...
I'm in New Mexico and the closest service center is Colorado Springs. So I'm assuming I'm seeing available inventory for the CO/NM area.
Last week there were quite a few R1S vehicles in the shop, today I'm only seeing ONE. Still lots of R1T's available though.
Looking forward to the refresh...
From Reddit post:
"I had been in the same boat as an early reservation holder, pulled the trigger a few days ago when Rivian offered free Stealth package and picking up a R1S Quad next week.
For pre-price hike order holders, you get a $6250 discount when leasing instead of the 20% off...
Pretty sure if you lease the 20% preorder voucher applies only to the portion of the MSRP minus the Residual Value.
So if the MSRP is 90K and the residual value is 60K, you get 20% off of the 30K difference rather than 20% off the 90K MSRP.
EDIT - based on reddit thread with the same question...
