Our Gen 2 R1S has been in service since we purchased it a month ago. AC did not work at delivery, compressor was replaced and the HV battery had a problem as well so that is being replaced now. We've been driving a Gen 1 R1S quad since and hopefully will be getting ours back tomorrow. It has...
They will definitely help with temp/humidity control, and should keep bugs out as well. I have a similar but smaller set that I used in my 4runner a few times and they worked great. It really helps to be able to keep the windows open (halfway or so works great depending on how cold it is)...
Update: I received these window screens yesterday and I can confirm that they fit well and look like they will work for camping. Will not be able to test them in actual camping for a while though.
Update 3 weeks later: They have now replaced the AC compressor; but in the process of post-repair testing they discovered that the HV Battery pack also needs to be replaced. The service manager said the two were likely related but did not know enough to explain exactly what the issue with the...
I bought this one and like it. Analog, no batteries, simple and easy to read.

Yes, like those but I am hoping there is someone out there who has used them and can verify that they fit and work well. The windows+doorframes are fairly large and not all of them will actually fit. I have a set that someone gave me that fit on my 4Runner, but they are too small to fit the R1S...
Can anyone recommend a specific product (and the correct size) that will fit over the R1S rear windows and work well to keep bugs out while windows are partially rolled down, while sleeping in the vehicle? thanks
Great news for NM! Agree that more RAN stations in remote places like White Sands would be great.
Apparently there are a number of NM state legislators driving Rivians now so perhaps that will help grease the wheels in getting a service station here one way or the other.
I did see that thread, however just to be clear, they stated that our issue was a leaking AC compressor which I assume is not the same part as the heat pump.
EDIT: apparently I was mistaken and it may actually be the same issue.
I searched and did not find a "generic" thread on Gen 2 issues so I thought I'd start one.
We took delivery of our Gen 2 2025 R1S Dual/Max on 7/24 at the Colorado Springs Service Center. We live 5 hours away so before driving there I asked for and recieved confirmation that the vehicle had...
Picked a 2025 R1S from shop on June 26, the next day got a text from the service center in Colorado Sprins saying expected delivery date is 7/24 but could change depending on how long it takes to get there from Illinois. Haven't heard anything since but assuming it's still on a train.
I'm in Santa Fe NM, taking delivery of our new R1S in Colorado Springs on July 24 if all goes as planned. May be able to pickup in Colorado as well.
Thanks
State Farm quoted me $700/6 months for a 2025 R1S Dual /Max. Seems pretty reasonable, a lot better than the Geico quote so I'm glad we switched everything over to State Farm last month.
That is great to hear! A lot of our trips are on mainly on local highways where the speed limit is 60-65. But it sounds like even on the interstates at 70-75 the range is better than I expected.
Yes, we (in the US) can see plenty of Gen 2 vehicles in the shop. In fact we just selected one today and confirmed the config, so we will be hopefully taking delivery in a few weeks. The 20% voucher is being applied and it is a 2025 Gen 2 R1S Dual/Max with AT upgrade.
"Business friendly" is by definition anti-consumer in many ways. When you let businesses buy the legislatures and write the rules, the consumer tends to be on the losing end of things. It's mind boggling to me that this is surprising to people.
You're right, there were some Performance Dual motors for sure. All gone now but I'm sure they'll be back. I'm waiting for a Dual/Max with AT upgrade, but don't want to pay for the Performance upgrade. I'm pretty confident we should be able to get one before the vouchers expire, but I guess...
There are currently 17 2025 Dual/Standard R1S (but no 2025 R1T) vehicles listed in the shop for my zip code, with delivery in 1-6 weeks. It is still possible to use the voucher on a 2025 R1S from the shop, but so far options are pretty limited. I think they had some Dual Max configs available at...
Thanks for the helpful comments. The improved suspension, heat pump, cameras, and vampire drain are all very good reasons to go with Gen 2. Adaptive Headlights also. I might be willing to pay for the upgraded sound system, would like to hear both before deciding though. I'm not an audiophile so...
There has not been over 2 years for those of us who live in places without a service center. They refused to sell me a vehicle until much later. Now they have offered to sell me a Gen 2 (WHICH IS CHEAPER FOR THEM TO MAKE, AND THEY ARE CHARGING MORE FOR THEM, SO IT BENEFITS RIVIAN AS WELL AS ME -...
