Oh, I know. My guess is that there's devices stored in memory and for some reason it gets full. A new module is essentially fresh and then only the current keys are associated with it. I've had at least 4-5 phone devices as keys in the last 6 months. You'd think that wouldn't matter but here we...
I had the same issue. But when I went to re-pair the phone thinking that was the issue, it would not. It took service swapping out the mirror Bluetooth module to fix it.
Already done. I used the entity "Gear Selector" which has the following values: Park/Drive/Neutral/Reverse
It appears there's also a value "In Use State" the the following values: Moving/Not Moving
So that could possibly be used as well, or even for something else cool that I haven't thought of.
Quick update:
Looks like in certain cases when the Rivian wakes up at night to charge, it can trigger a change to away/home while it figures out it actually is home. This triggered the garage door last night and luckily I caught it since it was negative 6 degrees out. So I added logic to not...
Infotainment and driving dynamics would have to be separate. So because the infotainment stack is shared, improvements can easily be made on both generations. But driving dynamics starts to deal with the control modules and therefore very different architecture.
Yes, completely agree about errant logic. I made one that auto shuts the garage doors at night but didn't confirm the shutting. So the one night the charge cable was under the door, it went back up. The best laid plans and all that.....
You are certainly welcome to pass. But it's not lazy when the button doesn't work or you'd like additional actions to trigger when you get home.
But do you even drive a Rivian? It's the right button on the steering wheel or the homelink controls on the touch screen. Very few, if anyone, is...
My problem was unreliable operation of the steering wheel button. And yes, it's gotten better with software, but as with many things Rivian, is just not quite there yet. I'm truly happy for those that don't have any issues. But I wouldn't have gone through the effort unless my patience-o-meter...
