  1. Charger door issues and windshield crack

Like a pry bar. Never had to but I thought the plastic levers would be less likely to damage the paint. Might by a mote point if the motor failed….
  2. How can I remove PAAK and use the fob only? PAAK can F all the the way off

I have an iPhone 15. Paak works fine 80% of the time. 15% there is a significant delay in locking or unlocking where I walk away and wait, wait, wait to make sure it locks.. 5% I ended up having to use another method. The annoyance out weighs the connivence by a long measure. Also, I do a...
  3. How can I remove PAAK and use the fob only? PAAK can F all the the way off

I recognize Mr Stanfield as a fellow longtime Rivian Forum member who I typically see eye to eye with on all things Rivian. However, on this topic our experiences diverge. I find the door locks to be the worst aspect of the Rivian experience. The capacitive touch door lock was perfected maybe...
  4. 100+ Mile Range Efficiency Challenge

Each data point represents the efficiency from one entire trip. I have a vacation home in northern Wisconsin I visit frequently from the Minneapolis area. The data is the efficiency reported by the Trip A odometer in the Rivian UI at the completion of each 165 mile trip. It is reset to zero...
  5. 100+ Mile Range Efficiency Challenge

I've been a bit puzzled over that too. The Gen 1 Quad has AP and Conserve modes. I wonder if the EPA is a blend of the two. Gen 2 Dual is essentially always like the conserve mode on a steady speed drive like this. For purposes of clarity, I've only included data where I used the Gen 1 in...
  6. 100+ Mile Range Efficiency Challenge

I’ve posted my efficiency results many times before but here they are again. This is on a 165 mile route I do frequently. Mix of 70mph freeway and 55 mph rural roads. Avg speed is 54 mph. I’ve owned a Gen 1 quad and now a Gen 2 dual R1T
  7. Great Lakes Adventure! Towing for over 5000 miles

There is a switch in the Rivian nav that says “ avoid chargers that need adapter “. Is that on in yours?
  8. Great Lakes Adventure! Towing for over 5000 miles

Last summer I drove from Vancouver to Winnipeg on the trans Canada in my R1T. I had no issues charging. There are enough superchargers open that it was super easy. Go to the Tesla website or PlugShare and filter for SCs open to non Tesla. This summer I am planning to go to Nova Scotia from...
  9. Boundary Waters

Hiking is sparse in the BWCA. It is primarily a place to explore by boat. The ice won’t be off the lakes until April sometime. Permits are required and should be applied for week in advance best hiking option is the Superior Hiking Trail. It follows the entire north shore of Lake Superior...
  10. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Getting these dies dialed in and online is probably one of the most important items on the R2 ramp Gantt chart. Great news!
  11. New Gen 2 Rivian review video by Out of Spec

Rivian has MANY other avenues to gather inputs. A thousand or so engineers and technicians rigorously testing the vehicles under controlled conditions. Many employee owned vehicles providing feedback. Telemetry data from ~100,000 vehicles in the field, etc. I don’t think the OOS videos tell...
  12. HVAC and Motor/battery Waste Heat

I have owned both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 putting 70,000 miles on the two. I've kept very careful track of efficiency on a 165 mile route I take repeatedly. Unfortunately, I have seen no efficiency benefit with the Gen 2 heat pump. I love everything about the Gen 2 except the heat pump. It's...
  13. Budman

    Sacramento Area Rivian Club

Have not seen that. Does it actually work?
  14. New Gen 2 Rivian review video by Out of Spec

Somebody on this forum said something to the effect he was single handedly responsible for Rivian make significant improvements to the vehicle. That is eye roll worthy. ?
  15. Gen 2 Key Fob back in stock

Just got my R1T FOB. Easy to pair to vehicle. Super happy to be done with the phone as key nonsense.
  16. New Gen 2 Rivian review video by Out of Spec

Alex on Autos and the sister channel EV Buyer’s Guide are far better reviews.
  17. Front Drive Unit Replacement-Who’s had it done?

I disagree. Forums skew strongly to the negative. I think I’m more the norm.
  18. Front Drive Unit Replacement-Who’s had it done?

55,000 miles on my old Gen 1 quad. Zero issues 11,000 miles on my new Gen 2 Dual. Zero issues. 66,000 trouble free Rivian miles.
  19. Rivian CFO: R2 production starts first half 2026; sourcing 95% complete; global sales (3/5/25 video)

Even with tariffs it might not be cheaper with USA parts. More certain yes, cheaper maybe not.
  20. OOS Cybertruck update. Major motor failure

Kyle likes the vehicle but calls the drivetrain unreliable and unacceptable.
