The charging curve doesn't tell the charging story completely. It's the time to add X amount of energy that is important. A change to the charging curve that looks "big" doesn't necessarily translate into a big reducing in charging time. I'm only seeing a minute or two of improvement over a...
Charging curves are one way to quantify charging performance. For me, I like energy added in a given amount of time. That's what's really important. Charging curves don't really capture that for me.
At bottom of UI hit the lightning bolt tap, that screen has been completely redesigned. Then, Top left corner of screen there is a "Charging" and a "Energy Monitor" menu option.

Electrify America station.
In summary: Incremental improvement. Maybe 1 minute faster for on boarding 60 kWh of energy.
Longer Story:
I've had a Gen 1 Large Pack and now a Gen 2 Max Pack R1T. I've recorded all my Electrify America charging sessions over the last 3 years and the data is summaries below. The different...
Here is my experience at EA stations for adding a certain amount of energy for a given amount of charging time. I've had both a Gen 1 and now a Gen 2 Max Pack. I'll update this chart with the latest software update just rolling out. The different lines on the chart are for different levels...
Me too. It is only helpful for general route planning. In actual practice I find PlugShare much more useful.
Thanks for this thread. I’m trying to convince my wife to do this trip to Alaska next year. Your experience will be very helpful. Good luck.
You can consider using PlugShare for trip planning. It is actually my first choice for trip planning. Even if you use ABRB you end up double checking charger status in Plugshare so I figure, just do everything in PlugShare.
I wrote a forum post on how to use it here...
I'm with you. What I want to know is can I get a vehicle that does not have all the sensor/software/development expense and get a lower cost vehicle. I would sign up for that. I'm now paying a heap of money for something I don't want and will not use.
I have owned both the Gen 1 large pack and the Gen 2 Max pack. They add equivalent amounts of energy in a given amount of time as the chart below shows.
i have kept detailed charging records on my road trips and can also say my experiences have been the same with electrify America and...
I can state with a high degree of statistical confidence that my new Gen 2 Max Pack R1T charges as fast or faster than my Gen 1 Large Pack.
I've used primarily Electrify America on my road trips (very successfully). The charging session data is shown below.
** There are 39 charging sessions...
Did the efficiency increase with the most recent update? Based on my testing I think the answer is clearly no. My most recent trip is denoted with the blue arrow. It's actually a little bit worse but the wind was a bit high. Will continue to monitor but I would be very surprised with it had...
What is the Minnesota location? Clicking on the pin says “Maple Grove” but that is not where it is located on the map. Maple Grove would make sense as there is an REI there.
