Same issues with screens blacking out etc. This has been the most glitchy update by far for me (Dec 22 delivery).
I speculate they rushed .31 to meet business milestones for Connect+ rollout and didn’t have time to work out the bugs. Hope the next one cleans this up.
Congrats. Download the ABRP app (route software specifically for EVs).
You can plot your course in advance to see where it will suggest you charge, then set up those Apps and payment details ahead of time.
Just downloaded the update, got the Apple Music trial, and tried some spatial music songs.
Way way louder without needing to crank it up! Sounds so much better than prior to update.
R1T Gen 1, Meridian (Dec 2022 delivery)
I’m in a similar position - R1T for 19 months but considering a gen 2 R1S since I don’t use the bed as often.
I’d love to hear a comparison once you’ve had some time in the R1S to assess ride, functionality, etc.
As an aside, EV Sportline is now offering steelies with snow tires (I’m not...
No it was actually inspired by an old espresso maker owned by RJ’s grandfather. This provided the caffeine needed to start an automobile company from scratch, and the R1 front end was a homage to the creative process and to his ancestors. Also, I just made this up.
I drove a Saab 9-3 on the autobahn in Germany about 20 years ago. Having the entire dashboard dark except for the speedometer is INCREDIBLE for highway driving at night. A totally fun experience and much less fatigue on your eyes.
I would love a “dark” mode button for our Rivians, or at least...
Mine does this too, and the timing seems to coincide with hitting the garage close button on the steering wheel. It’s almost as though processing the garage request slows down the camera processing.
Were you sliding straight ahead? If so, you can thank the benefits of front biased braking/regen which induces understeer and keeps you going straight. This is how OEMs design cars - they want to keep you pointed straight.
If it was rear biased, you’d likely start going sideways or backwards...
I have the hammock style which allows access to the under seat storage (just lift up the hammock).
Edit added link: I got the standard size.

Mine sat for 14+ days before service started and by the time I get it back it (next week hopefully) it will be over 21 days. If it’s not critical, I would wait.
Rivian insurance (Nationwide) provides glass replacement with $0 deductible. Probably worth it given the number of windshield replacement stories posted here.
