  1. Six wishes for Rivian to enhance my R1S ownership experience

I and my family would like them to add Apple Music to the streaming music options, as Tesla did a year or more ago.
  2. Software Update 2023.46.0 is rolling out

Being able to pre-plan multiple stop routes, including setting the starting charge level, naming and saving them, is terrific. I have a multi-stop volunteer food delivery route I do weekly, and it’s now saved on my phone. Also several long trips to frequently-visited destinations, including...
  3. Software Update 2023.46.0 is rolling out

The note says to not be connected to a DC fast charger. Nothing about L1/2.
  4. Driver Under-seat pocket: reliable?

I keep the roof bar key and parking meter quarters in mine. No sunglasses as I have transition lenses.
  5. Software Update 2023.46.0 is rolling out

I had an L2 charging issue back in the summer - it wouldn’t charge on 120 or 240 with the mobile charger, nor at a local ChargePoint. The SC replaced the whole charger in the car and it still didn’t work. Then a new monthly update arrived, they installed it and it charged fine after. Assumption...
  6. navigation system the worst there is.

I don't usually have issues with the Nav other than it seems optimistic about arrival time when driving in urban areas, e.g. around Boston, underestimating traffic and as you go the arrival time slips later and later. Strangest routing the Rivian ever gave me was from Boston to a ferry dock on...
  7. Spread Holiday Cheer with LED lights!

I got a 5W LED string at Target that’s 22 feet long. Ran an extension cord from the 2nd row outlet through the driver’s seat back pocket and up out between the two doors. I taped it down to the B pillar to come up right between the doors - seems fairly protected by the door gaskets. Then twist...
  8. R1S Max Pack - Winter Trips in New England - Charging Issues

I'm surprised Rivian doesn't offer any other adapters for the mobile charger. Tesla has a number of different ones for $35-45 each. I have used several, including a 6-50 on an outlet for a welder at a workshop - came in handy when I was completely out of battery in the middle of nowhere.
  9. Christmas Decorations for R1S?

Do you need to go through the window? What about just going through the door jamb?
  10. Tesla Tap Mini 80 not working on R1S

Not particularly hard, but I did notice it took more force to get it to click on the Tesla mobile charger I used for the first time the other day. There is a release button for it, that’s not as noticeable as the main release.
  11. Tesla Tap Mini 80 not working on R1S

Bummer. I got a Tesla Tap Mini 80 about a month ago, and have used it on my ten year old 80A Tesla Wall Connector, pulling 48A, and on a 2nd Generation Tesla Mobile Connector from my Model Y, pulling 32A. Both connected and charged first try on multiple occasions. Like you, I always wait 30...
  12. Tesla Universal Wall Connector home charger - it's here!

My contractor installed it yesterday in my absence, but I need to coach him through the commissioning process remotely. He will then test on his Rav4 PHEV.
  13. Took a 2K mile road trip for the first time with my R1. Here are my impressions

Nice trip writeup, @Donald Stanfield. Impressive field-dressing work. After ten years of Tesla ownership, non-Tesla fast charging is an eye-opener. In terms of reliable coverage, it feels like the Supercharger network six or seven years ago. For Thanksgiving we drove from Boston to the Eastern...
  14. 2023.46 Software Update Details (Highway Assist / Driver+ / Navigation & More...)

Most of my routing has been fine, but there have been a few oddities. Like when I set destination from Boston to a ferry dock on Lake Champlain in VT, and it routed me across a bridge further south, up the NY side of the lake and then via ferry to the dock!
  15. Tesla Universal Wall Connector home charger - it's here!

Yes thanks for the update. I brought the UWC to the second house where I’ll install it, but too much going on this weekend so it will have to wait for my next visit. Glad to know I won’t have to get a new one when I get around to it.
  16. Thanksgiving Travel 2023: DC Charging Thread

Driving tomorrow from Boston northwest through NH and VT to get a ferry across Lake Champlain to a family home on the NY side. Over a decade doing this trip in Teslas, a few times I found myself delayed and pinched between charging time and making the last ferry of the day - I even requested and...
  17. Painted / Colored Key Fob Buttons... so simple, HUGE difference. RJ take notes pls.

Yeah, if you use the fob all the time then you might memorize it, but I primarily use my phone and just take the fob when I know I might have someone else drive, stay in the car, etc. They're not at all familiar with it, and I wind up not memorizing it. So I got my daughter to paint it with...
  18. Proximity unlock is flawless now

I'm on an iphone 13 and it worked quite well before, though occasionally I had to tap the phone to wake it and get the car to respond. Now it seems to be ready faster, equal or better than our Model Y. But I really like the lock only at home. I often pass by the driveway when walking my dogs...
  19. Rivian offering a free wall charger and $2k install credit on select R1T purchases.

I’m an R1S owner so no dog in this hunt, but from what I’ve read here it seems the best way to get R1Ts moving out the door would be to have a working automatic tonneau cover on them. That would be priority #1 for me if I were in RJ’s shoes.
