Not an issue for me. I usually back into spaces in lots as well as when parallel parking. If I pull through to the other side, I hit the camera icon to make sure I’m centered in the space with the Birds Eye view.
When I back into a space while parallel parking my rear camera comes on, then when I’m pulling forward it switches to the front camera. Don’t all R1s do this?
Once 8 or so years ago on a long Model S drive with no Supercharger coverage and a surprise pre-Thanksgiving snowstorm I used Plugshare to contact and briefly charge at a Model S owner's home in Vermont, just topping off enough to make it to my destination. But in this age of DCFCs, about the...
I went to Staples for a Sharpie fine paint pen - since they came in a multi-color pack I asked my daughter to use red and white. Because the points weren't fine enough, she said it was easier just to fill them in and then scrape off the excess. Came out pretty well.
I’m having a similar problem with my Model Y lift gate. I think it’s probably a strut that’s putting up a little too much resistance so the motor gives up. I haven’t had time to get it serviced. Could be something that just needs to be worked a bit to smoothen out.
My R1S delivered in late June bricked due to 12v. It took them a few days but they eventually traced the problem to a “loose master ground wire” and once that was addressed, no problems since. Someone didn’t do their job right in the factory in June - maybe you have the same problem?
I’ve had Teslas for ten years, R1S for six weeks. I’ve already waited on EA lines twice when testing locally. I’m looking forward to my first R1S road trip but it will have extra time baked in so I don’t need to worry - and will be 400 not 1200 miles.
Take the Tesla. And per one comment above...
I wasn’t crazy about the blinker but it’s grown on me. It is easy to overpower with music however. And I agree with many on the weak horn - I don’t understand that at all.
As for the stalk not staying in the physical position, there is a functional reason for that, assuming Driver+ will (or...
My Thule bike rack has a built-in adjuster that allows using on 1-1/4” or 2” - I’ve used both sizes in past on Model X, Model Y and Honda Odyssey, haven’t used it on the R1S yet.
I’ve had my R1S for six weeks and did have two electrical issues but the service center prioritizes cars that can’t drive (12V battery problem ) or can’t charge (which turned out to be due to a failed software update). Other than that, the car has been perfect.
Having owned Teslas since an...
