I have about 2500 miles on the R1S and I haven't experienced this yet. That being said most of my driving has been city and highway with a limited amount of off road, and certainly nothing I would consider 'true' off-road (rock climbing etc.)

I'm sure one of the erudite software developers on this forum will figure out a way to bring it back by plugging in a modified PS2 into the USB port or some such. :)
