  1. Ford Ditches Electric SUV: Is it Time to Address the Elephant in the Room?

    1. Less competition can only be good 2. EV sales are in a bit of a doldrums moment. The tech is there now for an awesome commuter vehicle; it’s not there yet for other applications that most would be comfortable with.

  4. Rivian Premium Audio Options

I have gen 2 standard audio. It’s fine, but I’d like to add a sub back into the mix. Wonder if the sub wiring is present even if there is no sub.
  5. Ford delays new EV plant, cancels electric three-row SUV

I bought an EV with no tax incentive so I guess it’s not a requirement
  6. Ford delays new EV plant, cancels electric three-row SUV

Good. Tax money shouldn’t be used to subsidize wealthy people buying expensive cars Mortgage interest rate deductions should have never been a policy as it primarily benefits the wealthy- especially now with the standard deduction so high - & has helped balloon housing costs Did you really...
  7. Gen2 Dual Performance Max R1S Review

How loud is it? I also have a gen 2 with zero complaints except the compressor/heat pump is so loud (outside the cabin). No idea if it’s normal loud our not as I have no baseline to measure. First time it was in the garage, I was sitting inside the house & thought someone was running a lawnmower...
  8. R1T $7500 Tax Return with binding purchase agreement/2022 Amended Tax Return

So my experience was completely different. Had binding contract. Purchased a 2025 R1S in July. Amended return mid July, oddly first received a letter from the IRS stating there was no change to my tax situation, but received my refund check a few days after that. Time between filing amendment &...
  9. Connect+ is Here

Luckily connect+ offers nothing of value to me in its current form so no need to pay for the subscription
  10. Poor build quality for Gen2 R1S vs Gen1 & subsequent buyer's remorse

Noticeably better - yes. I’ll caveat that by saying ride comfort isn’t high on my list of things I care about & found gen1 perfectly acceptable
  11. Poor build quality for Gen2 R1S vs Gen1 & subsequent buyer's remorse

Yes. They’re not much different, but I do appreciate the upgrades that are there (specifically the cameras & the sound system is better - & I only have the base level speakers on the Gen2 I should note.) Really my only dislike is the heat pump/ac system is so loud outside the vehicle. My gen2 is...
  12. Poor build quality for Gen2 R1S vs Gen1 & subsequent buyer's remorse

I have a gen 2 & have thus far noticed 0 issues (nor do I feel anything was cheapened)
  13. Another 2025 R1S Gen2 Newbie

Always nice to see it being used as intended
  14. Tesla is buying back my Cybertruck..

The R1T is great but probably not for you giving what you just wrote. Well first you’re still not looking at a luxury vehicle (what made you think the cybertruck was going to be one btw?); Service is currently Rivian’s achilles heal & definitely worse than Tesla until they figure things out...
  15. Rumor of new battery size: Large+

In regards to demand, oddly when the 2025 models first began popping up on the shop, max packs would sell almost immediately. Maybe they ramped up production of the max as a result? Now are stuck if people stopped buying.
  16. Business Insider: Tesla is having trouble wooing new EV shoppers

They sold nearly half a million EV’s last quarter. I think they’ll be fine.
  17. Rivian is Most Satisfying Brand (Would Outrank Tesla and Porsche) in J.D. Power APPEAL Study

When these lists say anything remotely negative they are bs shill media companies with untrustworthy metrics not worth a damn, when they say positive things however it’s the word of god ?
  18. What are your thoughts on a 10 yr or 11 yr / 100,000 miles - 150,000 miles bumper to bumper extended warranty by Fidelity Warranty Services

Agree; these are almost always silly & the data on extended warranties backs this up. Anecdotally, I’ve also never had any issue that would have remotely come close to being worth the costs being quoted on here on any vehicle I’ve owned. Stack these warranty costs over those multiple vehicles &...
