I took the leap a month ago. For me it was worth it. Everything about it is more refined and the extra range is a big jump 288 to 370. The changes aren't smack you in the face different but they are noticeable.
For the people who care the image is different and rivian sold 1 key people would complain. I am still trying to find the benefit of the fob. Phone and cards work great never using a fob again if I can help it. same with my I4, key sits in the drawer at home, never gets used.

I was frustrated by the card at first then a service tech said 'Don't be a typical impatient man, hold the card there for 5-10 seconds' and BAM opens every time. If I kept my rivian outside I would probably use the Key Fobs since it is the most reliable and the phone is annoying to deal with...
I use it when required but steer clear of Tesla as much as possible. We really charge at home 90% of the time and when traveling EVGO, EA, RAN before Tesla unless I have zero choice.
Some of the expansion is for motor assembly. The Gen1 Quad motors where from Bosche if I remember correctly. So parts and assembly of motors is part of this expansion. Not to mention other things like seats, Audio systems, blah blah.

It isn't just a Rivian issue to solve. They told me in February 23 they were opening the Edison NJ center, that never happened. They opened a small spot in Trenton while building a new one near by. Now there is a new destination for central NJ in Woodbridge.
