I'm not totally sold yet on the cartoonish aspect of the new look - I'll have to see it live on my R1S - but I'm really looking forward to the blind spot cameras, the suspension adjustments and the HVAC presets. Bring it on!
I'm impressed with Rivian's PR department. The company is clearly making sure the financial press and the automotive press gets the cost savings story out there before they have to announce their 2Q results, which as they have been signaling and we all know won't be pretty. Hopefully this...
I can't get an appointment at my local service center to fix the windshield until late September. I made the appointment (which I am keeping for now), but Rivian's main service folks even called me and highly recommended that I get it fixed elsewhere.
Yes, my 2023 R1S needs a new windshield...I filed a claim with my insurer, Geico. One of the first things that Geico told me (via email) was that they pay for "like, kind and quality" on glass replacements and that if I choose to go with OEM windshields, I'd have to pay out of pocket for the...
Thanks for the very informative article, Snazzy Labs. Whoa boy, do I feel like I'm paying the early adopter tax now! I envy those who will be getting this refreshed R1S; it's not in the cards for my wife and I right now. But, to one point you made, I think this redesign bodes well for...
Are you on 2024.11.02? That's the latest software for me (hasn't been updated in awhile), and the one-touch garage door button continues to work flawlessly for me.
Well excuse me for breathing and making a contribution to the forum! As I first started reading the thread...no, I thought it was an honest question. You are clearly a more intelligent and perceptive being than I.
In addition to having the R1S badge, there is another way to confirm from the picture of the rear that it's an R1S and not an R2. The R1S has the two piece liftgate and tailgate, while the R2 just has a one-piece mechanism. You can clearly see the horizontal line right below the Rivian logo...
We've had our R1S since mid-September last year, and other than a quick jaunt up to Lake Tahoe from our home in Marin County in the SF Bay Area for a week of skiing in February, we hadn't been on any sort of road trip. That changed over this last weekend, when we drove up to Portland, OR (where...
I'll probably make it to about 14k or 15k before needing new tires (I'm at 12k right now). We do 95% of our driving at All Purpose/Standard height, 4% of our driving at All Purpose/Auto height and 1% of our driving on Conserve. In my mind, that's abysmal.
The struggle sure is real, isn't it? I selected the 21 inch wheels at configuration without frankly putting much thought into it. But now, with their abysmally poor lifespan, it's looking like I'll need new tires in another 2 months...and I can't believe that as of right now I only have one...
That's interesting...I'm picking up my R1S later today from getting serviced at a SC, and I've been wondering if...maybe, just maybe - SCs might have a supply that they're handing out to people who who are picking up their R1's from being serviced.
First of all, congratulations, and enjoy your R1S! Second...when we picked up our R1S, the SC hadn't done a thorough-enough quality check. Within maybe 10 minutes of leaving the SC, we were adjusting the ride height, and the air suspension was making a very loud noise, which in hindsight was...
